MAJOR ERROR IN YAMAHA OWNERS MANUAL ! OIL !

So , I found that after my first oil change , when I checked my oil after riding for quite a few miles (regrettably not soon enough) I had to put in near a quart of oil to get it back to the hash marks.. Damn..

When I went to do a oil change this time ,, I again looked in the book , and it says 2.22 quarts with filter.. I had even wrote it with silver marker right on the back of the oil fill door the first time ..

Well I do the change , add 2.22 quarts , start the engine and check… Needs oil so I add some more …. check ,, STILL needs oil…. ummm
I kept adding and starting engine until I had a very small amount of oil left in third quart…. seems it take about 2.7 quarts I start to think to myself … no wonder it was SO low last time I checked it…

2.6 Liter oil tank = 2.74 quarts

So this morning I do some research ,, and find this..

https://www.yamaha-motor.eu/eu/produ…turestechspecs

and our owners manual say this:

https://dd5394a0b8ca8e97ba29-abf76f3…29-04_2275.pdf

To spare you the read … In Europe they state it has a oil tank with a 2.6 liter capacity .. That = 2.747 quarts

our owners manuals state 2.2 quarts… WRONG WRONG WRONG , and thank you YAMAHA for having me drive around with low oil for awhile.. although it’s my fault for not double checking it right away..

EDIT: THIS APPLIES TO 2016 GRIZZLY , and 2016 KODIAK as of now ,, please check your Wolverine , and 2017 model Owners manuals.
