Hi everyone,
I just got a total basket case 1988 TRX300 4×4. The atv has seemingly been to hell and back, and dropped off a few cliffs along the way!
I am sure I will have many questions and threads going forward, but here is the first one.
I noticed yesterday while it was running, that at idle the headlights and dash lights are very bright. As soon as you hit the throttle and start riding, the lights dim, and they stay dim until the machine returns back to idle. This seems very strange, since in almost every other machine I have ever worked with, the exact opposite is true…idle=dim/throttle=bright. Any ideas? The machine does not have a battery at the moment, so I have been starting it with the kick starter. Could the lack of a battery cause this issue?
