Last Maine ride of the season

Rode Maine last weekend. Four of us went up. One grizzly 700, a can-am outty1k, and two scrambler 850xp’s. The scramblers are fast. After many drag races the scrambler and the outty are about the same in speed and acceleration. It all came down to who had the most traction. I rode the outty for a while. It had lots of balls, but was heavy and big feeling on the tight trails. I let the big bores shoot it out on the straightaways and one of the guys on the scrambler hit a substantial puddle at about 50 mph and hydroplaned. Needless to say there was some carnage. No one got hurt thanks to the rider getting thrown into a mud puddle. The atv broke the front metal bumper brackets and radiator support. Some trail repairs and Budweiser got him up and running for the rest of the weekend. I slashed my rear tire at the very end of the weekend (bummer), but other than that the grizzly ran great with about 4000 miles on the odometer. At camp I brought up my black powder cannon, and rocked the neighborhood throughout the evening. Titos vodka and cannons go great together by the way. The last trip away is always about the smiles not the miles and more boozing than cruising.
