As it says I am finally returning. I have been away for a number of years. In fact the last time I was here I was selling the aftermarket parts from my 2011 Sportsman 800 I traded in on a Renegade 1000 in 2014. The Renegade didn’t last long as it met its demise on a trip home from riding where during a car accident it went through the front of an enclosed trailer and hit a guard rail.
After that machine I let the wife talk me into a SxS. Never thought I would do it but I did. I ended up with an Arctic Cat Wildcat X 1000. I have had that since fall of 2014 and it has 3000 miles on it.
Went and talked to the dealership today about trading that in on a new atv. I landed on a 2016 Scrambler 1000 Lime. I decided back to an atv as most everyone I ride with is on atvs and honestly that is where my heart is at. The SxS was ok. It was extremely comfortable but there was absolutely no challenge to it. Plus my wife has only managed to be on the machine for 70 of the 3000 miles. I love her to death and at least she said get what you want.
Enough of my rambling. I’m not going to get into every pissing match over every name brand. Each one and each machine seems to have their quirks so my question is what about the Scrambler. The last Polaris I owned was a 2011 value atv non XP so no idea what to expect. I also am wondering about the extended warranty. I know that since I owned my last Polaris, Polaristar is no longer and Polaris is handling their own extended warranties. I assume this is better than before. The dealer has offered to lower the price of the extended warranty by $300 so a 3 year is $900 and a 4 year is $1100. What are your honest opinions on that? I’m all about the extended warranties IF they will cover something and not just give you the absolute run around on something legit.
Thanks in advance!
