I have a 2010 Outlander with DPS and sometimes the steering isn’t horrible, but at a stop it’s almost always quite hard to steer. On a trail it’s not bad but when I have a trailer that I’m slowly backing up it’s nearly impossible to change directions (the trailer or going in reverse isn’t what’s causing this same thing the other way, it was just an example.).
The battery appears to be the factory battery so it’s over 6 years old but I haven’t noticed any other battery related issues (I’ve been plowing with big light bars on no problem). If it was cheap I’d go ahead and buy a new battery to test if that helps but I thought it might actually be normal or something else.
I have a DS450 which you can turn the steering back and forth all day without issue. The Outlander when jacked up (no weight on the front) steers easily too.
What do you guys think? Thanks for the help!
