How Can We Improve Safety Driving Mentality?

I don’t want to take away the gravity of the deaths at Glamis the last couple of days with a post on that thread. Heart felt emotions go out to the family and friends of all who suffered and are lost. So how do we learn from this and get something positive? I don’t know what happened however we have a problem that I suspect is related to injuries and deaths in general. I’ve experienced a lot a close calls but been lucky. My last close call was last Sunday near Crown King. A couple of RZRs were running way too fast around blind corners and we almost hit head on. The first guy was sliding sideways hit the brakes when he saw me (you can’t steer if your wheels aren’t turning) and I instinctively turned into the inside of the corner and he and his buddy following went into the ditch on my side. Why does the RZR make people drive beyond their capabilities? I think it is hopeless to expect these knuckleheads to use common sense. I hope it doesn’t come to regulation or detuning of our machines in the future. Maybe we should just stop and kick the shit out of those people (not realistic either). Just reading on this forum there is a lot of macho (best drivers) out there. Go to a closed race track if you think your shit is that good. Anyone have any constructive ideas on how we can correct ourselves before we lose our sport? (done venting!)
