Hey gang. Recently acquired and just installed t, he newest, latest and greatest from HMF. Their competition slip on came highly raved about so figured it was worth the extra scratch, just shy of $300. After some digging to get my jetting ironed out I’ve got my TRX400X running like an animal! I ride between about 1100-6000 feet and other than the slip on, my bike is bone stock. Jetting looks to be perfect so far with a Dynojet 150 main which is 165 in the world of the Kehein carb that comes on the bike. I posted a jetting conversion table but I posted it here too. Also swapped out my stock 38 pilot jet with a Kehein 42 which everybody and their dog says to do. The bike was rather cold blooded and didn’t idle for crap on a bone cold start stock but now it fires up and idles almost immediately with no choke, like I heard it would with the 42 pilot jet. It took a little twisting and pushing but all in all the slip on install was a cake walk. Anybody considering this pipe I do caution you that it is friggin LOUD!! It comes with stage 1 and 2 adapters but what buy such an expensive bad a** pipe just to dumb it down?! Plus, if you restrict the pipe it WILL mess with the carb jetting. This pipe and jet set up really woke the bike up! I’m leaving it as it comes in the box at stage 3, wide open. It reaches for redline like it never used to. My stock top speed was 66 mph and I’m 6’7" and about 230 lbs. I know I can get 70 mph out of her now as I had rpm to go at 66 mph but the bike just couldn’t drag my big a** down the road any faster. I definitely recommend this pipe and can’t wait to go hit some real northern Idaho trail but it’ll probably be next spring before that happens. Hope this helps and happy riding!!
