It looks like the gears in the steering gearbox of my XP 900 have stripped causing the front wheels to fan away from each other with the distance between the front of the wheels being a few inches further than the distance between the rear of the wheels. The tie rod ends are tight and have not moved out of their original settings. I’m thinking that the only way this out of alignment condition can suddenly occur is if the tie rods have slipped out of position in the steering gearbox.
What do you think? If it is the gearbox is a replacement readily available or is this situation so rare that it has to be ordered from afar?
The dealers are closed for their Sun/Mon weekend now so I’m anxiously awaiting for Tuesday to come. We’re on vacation here in Santa Fe and are grounded from playing with our XP 900. 🙁
Thanks for any suggestions you might offer to get us going again. :ride:
