Ground Clearance

Hello All, I just got back from my first big ride with my new machine on the Paiute trails in Utah. Before I went I set my sag up for Michigan(no rocks). I have my ’16 Renegade xxc set up for around 30% sag or 8" ground clearance with my weight. My problem was, that when in Utah my machine was running across rocks and boulders constantly on the bottom. My new Ricochet skids look like my 8 year old ones on my Grizzly. Is this normal or do you guys raise the preload all the way up to increase ground clearance when you know you’re going to be ridding in rocky terrain? I love the way the machine handles without rocks, just not while in rocks(kinda dangerous)!! Your thoughts??? Thanks in advance!!!!
