Grizz 600, Stretched Chain pics WOW

Hey all,

Even though this is my first post, I’d like to thank all of you for incredible help this forum has been. (this is my first 4 wheeler)

I picked up a 99 grizzly 600 for $300 (couldn’t pass it up for some reason) Cam cover, head, all removed. Guy that sold it didn’t know much about it, but took it in trade. He had someone look at it and said it needed a top end.

So I put new piston, rings, gaskets, laped the valves, new carb, new plug, new throttle cable. Also all new brakes (rear was seized) First starter press boom, it runs! didn’t sound so good though. If I reved even slightly most the noise went away, then "pop" it shut down, and trying to restart the crank freewheeled nad cam wasn’t turning DOH! Pulled it apart, chain had popped off the crank sprocket

So I picked up a new chain yesterday and WOWZA this thing had to be a full inch or more stretched. The tensioner couldn’t even get close to touching the guide.

Swapped it out, sounds MUCH better now. Still a bit of noise from the clutch/belt area.

Tried to give it a ride and it took significant throttle for to engage. So now I get to tear apart the clutch. So now I get to dig through the forum to figure that out.

Anyways
