GOOD BYE OL’ SCRAPPY

Well, I wasn’t sure I would ever do it, but after 4 years of work and a lot of money, I finally got rid of Ol’ Scrappy. I built it just the way I wanted and it performed flawlessly when it worked right. The problem was, every time I rode it, it broke down or something went wrong. I could always ride it home even though one part or another would not be working right. But, the last time I couldn’t get it home. I had to be towed off of the mountain. Plus, my wife could not ride double very well. She would just slide around all over the back end and couldn’t hold her self in one place.

So, we went and bought ourselves a brand new CF Moto ZForce 800 EX EPS. We love it and rode all last summer with no breakdowns. I took the tires and wheels from Scrappy and put them on the Z8. I am currently working on clutch work. I plan to add snorkels, custom bumpers, skids and a roll cage. I also plan to add some performance mods. I already have a 2 Bros. exhaust.

I wasn’t sure what to do with Scrappy. A friend of mine told me he had a modified Chevy 355 for sale or trade. He had seen Scrappy playing in the mud and wanted it. I wasn’t going to do it at first, but I have a ’67 Chevy project truck in need of a new engine, so I went for it. Maybe when he gets it fixed and gets some more good tires on it, I may see Scrappy in action again.

This is my Farewell Tribute to Ol’ Scrappy. Here are some pics and recaps of 4 years of work.
