My front suspension is driving me crazy. It will squeak while hitting the slightest bump/rock. I took the front shocks off and greased the upper and lower bushings, as I read that they come dry from the factory. They were already starting to rust on my 2014 with 160 miles. Put them back in, greased the sway bars up real good, and assumed that I had rectified the problem. Took the machine out again a week later and although it was better, it still squeaked. I greased the sway bars again, even though they were already well-greased, and no change.
I hate to admit it, but most of the riding we do isn’t too extreme, as my wife and 18 month old like to cruise camp roads. I will occasionally get out and do some more challenging riding with my friend’s, but probably not enough to justify a Bandit shock upgrade, sadly.
I’m not sure if the squeak is coming from the bushings or sway bars. I could disconnect the sways, although I’m a little concerned about body roll with an inexperienced wife driving, with our daughter. If it’s the bushings, I suppose I could upgrade to poly bushings and hope that resolves the squeak. I’m not expecting a 100% quiet ride, but the squeaking over every bump gets old fast.
Thoughts?
Thank you,
Andrew
