Took my 2016 sportsman 1000 out to see how it would do in the snow and less then a mile later POP!! Pinion cover exploaded. I had it in 2 wheel drive when it happened. It is under warranty but I don’t want to have it sitting at the dealership waiting to get it fixed because i want to use it to go ice fishing. I plan on putting new aftermarket pinion cover on anyways so should i even bother taken it to the dealership to have it fixed or just order the heavy duty pinion cover and fix it myself? Is there a chance the front differential is damaged also in which case im better off taking it to the dealership?
