For almost two years the issue of slow or hard start for my 700xx has been an irritation. This issue sooner or later will affect all 700xx owners. After reading and looking at the issue it looked to me the issue was the (decompressor) located on the cam shaft. The Honda mechanic said either replace starter when it wears out, or replace the cam. Due to the manufacturing, replacing the worn out part means replacing the cam shaft. So I purchased new cam shaft, bearings, cam chain, and rear chain guide. Replacing the parts was not that hard and also I had some expert help from TRX2fiveO AKA Moose thanks again Moose. The PIA part was the motor has to be removed from the frame and yes all plastics/wiring behind the bars have to be disconnected or removed. After all the hard work and yes headache’s, pushed the start button last night and the 700xx lives again issue fixed. So long story short I knew going into this repair if this repair went south I could go on the Honda forum for help or support.
