I’ve had my 2008 Rancher 420 for a a few months now and am stumped with the exhaust smoke.
My ATV smokes a little. It’s like a hazy smoke. It’s not at all thick and you almost have to look for it. Also, I only notice it when I’m giving the ATV throttle. At idle I don’t notice it or it goes away.
I’ve had the compression checked and haven’t noticed my oil or coolant levels change. The compression check came back good so I’m kind of stumped.
Every time I take it out riding it bothers me. The smoke/haze hasn’t gotten worse. I’ve put about 4 tanks of fuel through it so I’m sure it’s not fuel related.
My neighbor is also an ATV guy and told me that he thinks that it’s just burning oils out of the exhaust. Where’s do these "oils" come from and is it normal?
