EPS issue

Yep, another one…although based on what I’ve read here it doesn’t seem like this is a common problem. I bought a 2011 700 with 1300 miles on it that looked fairly clean, frame, engine, etc looked very clean, plastics had some scratches, but nothing terrible. Guy claimed it had been babied and since he had a physical handicap (not sure what the PC term is here) I assumed all was good. Got it home and was happy. I didn’t realize that the EPS light being lit was a bad thing as it was always on. Then one day I go out to plow and the steering is really nice and easy and I notice the light is off. This lasted only a few minutes and then the EPS light came back on and has been on ever since.

Great. My 2 week old 2011 has a big problem. Check the battery including load test (supposedly new in 2013) relays, fuses, wiring, etc. Everything looks OK

Pull the codes (current and historical) and get 13, Torque sensor. Seems like everyone says it cannot be replaced on its own, yet at least one person has claimed to do just that taking a torque sensor off a warrantied EPS unit and fixed his.

Aside from replacing the whole EPS unit has anyone managed to correct this?

Thanks
