2007 700…
Had the valves adjusted, oil change, general tune up.Rode the quad home a few blocks and parked it.It ran great!
A friend of mine did it,simply because I don’t have the room in my garage, with my bikes in here.
There it sat for a couple of months.I fired it up yesterday, only to let it run for a while, just to circulate the blood.
It had been idling for about 5 minutes, when I blipped the throttle…well it hesitated, serious flat spot, and a lot of noise as it stalled out.It has done this before, but not like this time,it was louder than normal,as it died.Almost like it was on compression stroke, but no spark or something…like the engine cycle reversed as it died…very noisy as it came to a sudden stall.
So I turn it over,it fires, but barely.I managed to get it to run,but with engine noise,so I just let it die.
Pretty sure I have a valve that kissed the piston.Timing chain jumped?
Has anyone ever experienced this, and if so…what should I expect for internal damage, before we tear into it?
Thanks!
