Enclosed trailer Good/Bad idea?

What are the trailer considerations for ATV/UTV’s?

I use an open trailer (5′ X 8′) for my ATV, and it works great except I have to remove the windshield for travel. I am going to buy Pioneer 1000, and I’ll need a bigger trailer to accommodate the bigger machine. My travel miles will be not be very extensive. I have never owned and enclosed trailer, and I’m wondering if going that route would be the best choice. One disadvantage is that the tongue weight is about 200 lbs. and it would be a pain to get hooked up. On the other hand it would serve as a great place to store the UTV.

I will have to go 7′ wide in order to have room to get in and out, and I think I will need at least a 12′ long trailer. For some reason, most if not all, manufacturers go 14′ long when the trailer width is 7′. The new machine will be about 10′ X 5′ 3", weight 1526 lbs., and I using a Toyota Sequoia (similar to a Tahoe) to tow it with.

Two other general questions are single axle or duel, and aluminum vs. steel.

As I said, I don’t have any experience with an enclosed trailer, and any input would be appreciated.

Thanks
