I recently purchased a 2016 1000 xxc to replace a 2007 grizzly 700 I bought new. After a few rides I loved the power and throttle response but started noticing other things I wasn’t happy with. The first negative thing that happened was while cruising a trail at a good clip, the seat came off. It’s popped off at least ten times in the 140 miles on the machine. Next I noticed you can’t even see the gauge pod past the handle bar pad, why would it be mounted so low? After installing a factory front skid I spent some time looking over the machine to see most of the hardware for the build of the whole machine is aggressively too long, like can am had built this machine from leftover hardware store bolts. Most of the nuts where loose and not tack welded to the frame like Yamaha or Honda does, requiring you to you a wrench and a socket in hard to reach places. After going for another ride I kept finding the thumb throttle is too long. I’d keep catching it on my hand if I wasn’t careful causing the throttle to stay open. I’ve slid the throttle assembly over as far as I can and the throttle is still a problem. All in all the power is nice, the handling is good but as far as fit and finish can am has a long way to go!
