So I live in San Diego and have a house outside of Cascade, Idaho. The unit is for Idaho. So I was trying to find various models to look at here in SD which, as it turns out is not that easy as most of the dealers here specialize in go super-fast types for desert riding. Was comparing the Yamaha Kodiak against the Polaris and decided on the Polaris as the machine that would be wife friendly (enough) if she chooses to ride it, comfortable enough for the teenagers, if i let them ride it, and priced more reasonably than the Yamaha, and will be well taken care of and generally fairly gently and occasionally utilized.
So now to the purchase. Sourced all the dealers in Boise and the local dealer near McCall. Dealer near McCall out the gate had the best price, located a unit from another dealership, and will deliver to the house, no extra charge. I don’t have a trailer to move it. Winner, winner, chicken dinner.
All bought and paid for over the phone, just have to wait until I’m at the Idaho house to take delivery in 2 weeks. Oh yeah, have to get insurance and an OHV sticker to make if fully legal.
Very excited and looking forward to my first ride. All’s i’ve got now are a big credit card bill and a couple of pictures. Sort of like my other internet experiences <—joke.
I am not mechanically inclined so the thought of spending my limited vacation time fixing stuff is a non-starter so really planning on this unit to be super reliable. Have read the threads on break-in procedures etc. Can’t wait for that time to expire and then move on to the great fun.
