For the seat belt speed limiter I went a little different then the purchased bypass plug or cutting. I used a scotch lock inline splice. I just cut the stop out on the one leg and clipped it across the two wires. Then I put a little electrical tape around it and the end of the plug to keep dirt and moisture out. This way if I was every going to put the factory belts back in I can revert back in 30 seconds and no one will every now.
Because I went with all clip-on ends I had to mount the eyebolts at each location. For the shoulders it worked great to bolt straight to the tabs that come off the rear seat hoop. They are a perfect height and I rotated the eye bolts slightly so to match the way the belts fit over the seat.
For the outside lap mounts I used the tabs that the factory belt retractors bolt to . Again perfect spot and with the eye bolts no issues. One item I came across is I didn’t know the bolts were pressed into the retractor mechanism. So I had my T40 bit in it and snapped it off . Then I was able to use my breaker bar to fit on the bolt which is between the bracket and the body panel and out she came.
The sub belt I had to open up the hole that is already centered in the U bar that runs across the front for the seat mounts. I had to enlarge it to a 1/2" hole from a 3/8". The plastic under this U brace already is notched in this area so I just had to unbolt the frame for the seats to lift it up about 4" to allow me to get a socket behind on the nut.
Finally for the center lap belt locations I had to do a little more. I wanted to have access to unclip the harness so I built a small bracket that is about 2" and bolts to the factory latch bracket. I then bolted the eye bolt into the end. I inverted the boots in the center console and the eye bolts just protruded through them. This allowed me to access the clip ends.
It all worked really good. I will try to get pictures put up tonight.
I have already put the RZR on its side and the factory 3 point belts left some nasty bruises on my shoulder and hip. Hopefully these will be better next time that happens. :ride:
