I have a 2001 Sportsman 500 HO. The drive belt shredded last week. Some of the belt was wrapped around the clutch and around the drive shaft. All those pieces were removed so I could replace the belt. I ran the engine and found that I have oil spraying from the fins on the inboard side (next to the engine) of the clutch. I think the crankshaft seal may be leaking. There is no oil residue inside the clutch cover so I’m certain that this leak is new since the parts of the old drive belt were removed. Can this seal be replaced or repaired without taking the crankcase apart?
