Stalling: 2016 Yamaha Kodiak 700 SE

So far only had very limited rides. Can’t wait to see what it can really do once it’s broken it. As of now there are only 4 hours on it.

I have experience an issue with low speed maneuvering – it stalls. It will back fire through the intake and shut right off. It does start right back up and off I go for a bit and then it will happen again.
Any ideas – sparkplug? Running lean? Someone suggested having the dealer enter CO mode and turning the setting to 15 from 0. Any thoughts? Anyone else experiencing this?

Opinion on 95′ Kodiak 400 4X4

Hello – I’m planning on buying a 1995 Yamaha Kodiak 400 4X4 over the weekend. It appears to have been taken care of. However, the current owner confirmed that in the 10 years that he’s owned it, he’s never changed out the u joints. He claims that it starts right up and runs pretty good. Is there a chance that the yokes aren’t going to have to be replaced due to the old u joints? It’s located in a different city, so I won’t get to see it or test drive it until I drive 200 miles there. A few buddies of mine have told me not to buy it because it’s too old, but it looks good and I’m pretty mechanically inclined, so I’m thinking I’ll be ok if something goes wrong with it. Anyone here own a 95 Kodiak 400? Are my friends right, should I stay away from a 20 year old four wheeler?

rear drum brakes

My rear brake is very weak. I replaced all the springs shoes and drum with oem parts about a week ago, and the brakes got a little better but still will not slow down or stop the quad very well. I rode a Bruin with the same rear drum set up as mine and that rear brake was strong enough to lock the tires up. Anyone know what my problem could be? I’ve adjusted them every which way i know of.

Thanks

thinking of Buying a KODIAK 700 se and selling my ’12 foreman

I have a 2012 with about 265 miles on it that has all sorts of extra goodies on it but at the end of the day its still a footshfting, sluggish, diff lock lacking, reliable quad… It works but I feel like the kodiak would be so much more machine

THis new Kodiak, specifically the SE with diff-lock, has peaked my interest. anyone seen or heard any out the door pricing on this model?

Ive only owned Honda, always been warned off a belted ATV that "will leave me stuck in the woods."

I dont "MUD", I use my quad for pulling trailers around my property and getting into and out of hunting areas…
