I am looking at some sti beadlocks that are 12×7 4/3 offset all the way around. My current paddles are skat trak extremes 26x10x12 on the rear and 26 x12x12 doonz up front all on 12×8 dwt rims. Am I going to be ok going to a narrower rim? Will the paddles round too much on the new tim, I like the paddles, they run great, just don’t like the rims. The setup came with the bike.
This might be a silly question, but why do 30" tires only come in widths of 10" instead of sizes like 30×9 and 30×11? Maybe I am just old school and are use to running narrower tires on the front.
Looking for new tires for my XP1K here in Alberta and would like an opinion from other Alberta riders on a tire that works well in the terrain that we ride in but is also more durable than the stock Bighorns. Lots of differing opinions on tires here on the forums but I would appreciate feedback from the people that understand what we ride on. The snow 8 months of the year then the tar-like mud and muskeg in between plus the dry, wickedly rocky trails.
Im looking at the ITP Blackwater Evolution’s currently thinking that they are durable and have a fairly aggressive tread that should be fairly self-cleaning in the mud and snow. But I love the look and durability of the Tensor Regulators too but there doesnt seem to be a definitive opinion on their performance in mud and snow.
Just as the title says! It’s time for new wheels and I’m having a hard time deciding between beadlocked or not.
Considerations are weight, strength, hassle, necessity. Cost would be a consideration in which brand but not a deciding factor in whether to beadlock or not.
Right now I run at about 10 psi front and 12 rear and I don’t know that I would want to run much lower because I do just as much (if not a bit more) high speed vs low speed.
I do live in some rugged terrain in BC, Canada and we go fairly deep quite often but that being said I’ve got a couple hundred hours on my 1k and never blown a bead. I’ve shredded multiple bighorns but haven’t had any concern since I switched to my roctanes.
I know that overall the beadlocked are going to be stronger/safer but I also know they can be quite a pain in the ass to set properly and ensure a solid, leak free fit. I’m also really not a fan of unnecessary unstrung weight…
So based on all of my comments, what do you guys think?
Hey I have a 570 with a 2" lift I have the alloy 12 inch wheels I was wondering can I put a 10" wide tire on front it says 25x9x12 factory reason being asked is I’m about to order SUper atv forward a arms and was gonna get a set of 29.5x10x12 tires for all 4 corners I really like the look my factory wheels and will probally only run 10psi
With the stock wheels/tires on my ’16 Turbo 1000, it BARELY fits in my Weekend Warrior trailer. I have the SX Edition which is considered to be a 18′ trailer. I can get it in, but the tires touch the rear gate and also are up against the side of my fridge, which is pushed in an inch or so, after traveling back from my trip this weekend. I’m wanting to get new rims and tires and am currently considering the Method 401 beadlock rims with the 5/2 offset and the Tensor 28x10x14 rims, mainly to be sure that it will still fit in my trailer. Is there a different tire that I should consider ? I’m getting a little nervous about the weigh of the Tensor tires… Any suggestions/ comments/ opinions are appreciated.

Just got a set of STI wheels and went to mount them up and noticed they don’t use a tapered seat lugnut. Looks like they need a flat based nut. Never saw this before. Is it any good? What keeps the wheel centered on the hub? Thanks.
