It might have even been last year but there was somebody with some seriously huge paddles and buffs on an XP4 1000. They were like 32x15x14. Like something off a sand rail.
Would like to see those pics again. Anybody?
Searched the wheel and tire section back to Sep. of 14′. Didn’t see any titles that was what I was looking for.
Looking for iPhone on best all round trail/mud tire. I have 30" silverbacks and 29" bighorns all on wheels that I switch back and forth. Tired of that. Not a super aggressive mud rider anymore so I’m looking for a good 2-way tire. Looking towards the outback XT or maybe even zillas again but the zilla don’t last long. Any other tires with around a 1.25"-1.5" mud lug that still is trail rideable?
I had asked a question / opinion experience with a tire in the 1000 section and didn’t get much response..
So here I go again.
I was looking for a set for a 15 xp1000, I ride in the az desert, some rock crawling, trail riding up north and glamis dunes. Therefor I need a tire that does it all.. minus mudding.
1- gbc mongrel : I was driven away due to the few negative reviews on grip in the rocks, the flimsy sidewall and prone to puncture.. also the elevated tire pressure required to run em.
My question is how true is this for all that ride on mongrel?
2- the sedona rock-a-billy : to me this tire looks bad ass, good in the rock,
I was told the rubber compound used was very similar to pro comp but 5%-10% softer for better grip. Also center tread is harder than the side for better wear, Rounded profile And a true 4 ply. BUT not DOT… price point is elevated IMO..
Anyone Tried the sedona?
3- Rage thunder : cheaper in price in comparison to most tires. Newly release so not much information on review unless you check out utvunl.. which seems almost like a sponsored video.. Bias.. but could also be genuine. I like the tread pattern seems, seems solid compound is a bit soft, offers lots of grip but will wear faster.
Who’s tried the rage thunder?
4- tensor regulator : Everyone wants them and loves them seem like a great tire from most reviews and the price tag was out of my personal reach..
5- Arisun aftershock xd : From the information I gathered, Great sidewall run only 8psi, super solid and great for crawling

Just put some 30x10x14 ITP Ultracross r spec and Methed 401 with 5+2 offset on 4 corners on a 15 1000xp4. First impression is they look cool. Took it for a quick rip for about a mile or two so far, blacktop to hard packed trail and back. In the quick rip had it up on two wheels and remember saying wow that never happened before. I don’t think I blame the wheel combo yet I might have just been getting on the right pedal at the wrong time. But then coming back out of the trail on the black top moving along on a curve doing about 65 the back end broke free and I don’t remember saying anything just smelling a little poop. I love the looks I just need to get use to them. What kind of psi should I be running on a lot of hard packed trails, sand pit and rocks?
Hey all. Getting tired of doing trailside re-beads and never ending bead leaks on my current set up so I am planning on a set of 14" beadlocks. I am running a 900 Trail and 28" Radial Laws and want to stay as narrow as possible, so only looking at offset options that are close to stock (6+1, 5+2). I have pretty much narrowed it down to Method 401’s or Walker Evans. Most on here seem to favour the Methods, but if anyone has any solid, real world feedback before I take the plunge, I’m all ears.
Hi guys just a quick question I’m thinking about buying the Tensor regulator tires 30 inch and how would it affect the clutching on my 15 razor 1000 . I did install a hill clicker set up . I do a lot of mountain trail riding 5000 ft and higher. I’m wondering if it will affect the performance going from stock 29 tires to a 30 inch 8 ply tires
