I will be ordering the "Step Washers" to repair my wallowed out a arm attach points on the frame of the front of our 800S and need some info from anyone who has also had to make this repair.
I would like to order new grade 8 (or higher) bolts for the a arms and need info on how much longer a bolt to order given the added "step washer" thickness, what length of threads, and any source for these bolts — as well as the Nyloc nuts to go with them. I want slightly longer bolts so I can also use washers under the nut and bolt to further "spread" the load.
Any other tips on making this repair would be appreciated. I have read most of the material in the archives.
These new 5-stage modular compression damping struts for the Polaris XP1000 will be ready to ship mid to end of October, a direct drop-in replacement of stock suspension. I know the question was asked if the XP1000 would bolt up to the XP900 and the consensus was that it would not be feasible or worth it. I have XP1000 a-arms, trailing arms, radius rods, and axle shafts and am not afraid to fan my own mount points and build rear shock towers so I’ll ask it this way. What else will be needed? Things I assume:
F/R calipers, rotors, spindles, hubs, , brake lines.
I’ve seen where people are swapping the front diff from a 1000 to a 900 so I assume the front inboard CV is a non issue, the front outer will obviously work with the new hubs. It will just be a matter of getting shafts.
What about the rear CVs? Same situation I hope.
Also hoping I can make my Cognito sway bay work and just make spacers or standoffs from the 1000 trailing arm.
I will also be looking for the required parts, used is always nice.
If I can get enough information and it’s feasible I will begin the build and start a thread. It will be a long winter project.
I was wondering if there are any sway bar options out there other than factory? And does the rzr 800 4 use a different sway bar than a 800s?
I have a 2014 rzr 4. I put on a 2" racer tech lift and racer tech progressive springs. While it did help out the ride tremendously the sway is just so dang stiff that I really would like a softer one. I disconnected the sway bar on my 2013 800s for a few miles of a trail back before I swapped it for my 4 seater and I really didn’t like how is leaned so I connected it back. I have not done it with my 4 seater. I ride a lot of trails and rock crawling. Any advice would be appreciated.
2015 900 trail. Wobble in front left and rear wheel. Replaced with Garage Products bushings and new American Star bearings. Still have as much play. If it was just the front I would say it was ball joint but this is both front and rear. Any ideas?
I think a rock got caught up in between the caliper and the wheel. No damage to the caliper jus a couple of faint scratch marks. Not so lucky with my new wheel.
Has anybody seen this before? Anything to keep this from happening again?
Ok, have done searches here and on the net on rebuilding my Podium 1.5 on my 09 800s. Can find the actual rebuild kits and Schrader valve mod, but not much out there for procedures and specs like how much oil, bleeding, psi, etc. I am an experienced and trained mechanic, but never had one of these apart. I’ve read the de-pressurization procedure and the cautions with that process. I do have access to nitrogen for refilling if I convert to a Schrader. The ride is ok, so not looking to modify the ride at this point; maybe will add some progressive springs later. Any help?
