2.5″ front Walker shocks

One of the popular upgrades to the XP 1000 and XP4 1000 is a pair of 2.5″ front shocks. The factory shocks are 2″ in diameter and are great for 90% of the people out there. But, if you run your RZR hard or maybe you plan on racing your car you may see some shock fade (over heating) which will feel like the front suspension gets softer. It takes a lot to do this and most people will not run into this problem but if you run for hours at a time or race over 100 miles through the roughest terrain then a 2.5″ front shock upgrade may be for you. With the larger shock diameter you get more oil volume which takes much longer to over heat or “fade”. In addition, with the larger 2.5″ diameter piston you can tune more bump stage resistance into your system without sacrificing any plush ride through normal terrain. This means you can run harder without having any bottom out issues.

If racing is part of your plans then you need to consider STEEL shock bodies as well. WHY? The standard shock bodies that come on the 2.5″ Walker Evans shocks are aluminum. These are great for most people under typical use. These are relatively easy to machine and don’t require plating. There are two negatives to this. One: the preload collar is also aluminum and tends to seize up on the shock body after you adjust your ride height a few times. If your like most racers and change your ride height a lot then this is a big issue. Steel shock bodies cure this completely because you now have dis-similar materials at the contact point (steel body and aluminum nut). Two: the steel shock bodies have less shock FADE than the aluminum bodies. The reason is this, even though the aluminum body has better heat dissipation characteristics than the steel body does, dissipation is not the real culprit here, it is expansion. Aluminum expands 5 times faster than steel. When the aluminum body expands it looses hydraulic seal with the piston inside. This basically means you have no resistance from the shock in a big hit since the fluid passes around the piston instead of through it and it’s valving. Since the steel body doesn’t expand near as much it retains the piston seal even at high temperatures limiting potential fade. Every race shock used on a Trophy Truck, Class one (unlimited) in SCORE or BITD desert racing uses a steel body. This is true for Bypass shocks, coil over shocks, Fox, King or any other competitive race shock company. We are the only company building upgraded steel bodies for Walker Evens shocks. We are serious about suspension performance. If you take your racing serious too then upgrade to our steel bodies and see the performance difference.

2.5″ front Walker Evans (shocks only) with valving tuned for your application…..$1,049 a pair

2.5″ front Walker Evans shocks with valving for your application and Dual Rate springs and cross over…..$1,449 pair
(desert racing, sand dunes, trail and short course spring packages are available)

STEEL bodies add…….$200 a pair

NEW RZR 1000 front sway bar kit available

Hello everyone.

We would like to let everyone know that our new, highly tested, front anti sway bars are in stock and ready to ship. This front sway bar system is completely BOLT ON. No welding at all. It is infinitely adjustable with 3 settings on the bar itself as well as moving the arm clamp up and down the arm for fine tuning too. We have over 2500 miles on this system in desert, rock and dune conditions. This does not count the many short course and desert races this system has seen on multiple race team’s UTV’s. If you would like to eliminate the front end sway and dive when cornering then this is for you.

Some of the advantages are:

Completely bolt on
High clearance billet clamp system
Less front end body roll
More high speed stability
Higher corner speeds
Four wheel drifts in the right terrain
Less tendency to pick the inside, rear tire off the ground in a turn
Faster lap times
Beat your friends!

Negatives:

Less suspension independence in serious rock crawling
In this scenario we recommend disconnecting a sway bar link for the day and re-attach it when your done.

Installation of this kit takes about one hour and is easy to do. Currently, only some of the winch kits available fit with this sway bar system but we will have a universal winch plate that you can use with this sway bar kit to attach any winch you may already have. We will have lower arm billet clamps available for Lone Star and other long travel kits very soon. The complete kit cost is $650. This is right in the middle of the other front bar systems out there but there is no WELDING, front bumpers or clearance issues to deal with in this system. BOLT ON. Thank you for your patients with us bringing this to market. We hope you enjoy it as much as we have racing it. If you have any questions PM or call us any time. Thank you.
