I just bought my neighbor’s 2016 XP Turbo. He already has done quite a bit of custom work. His attention to detail is remarkable. However, I am wanting to enclose a winch into this beast of a machine. The kind of riding I have done in the past requires it. This past weekend I have scoured the forums and have not found a thread detailing this process.
So I thought I would try to do this myself. I wanted to turn to others who may have done this but have not published their efforts yet. If you could chip in your advice, I would appreciate it.
The first thing I looked into was the type of winch. I noticed that on the Polaris website they offered their version of the 4500 lb winch or offered the Warn Provantage 4500 winch (the one for 799.99). So, I assumed both will fit.
In comparing the two, I found the Polaris was 1.6 hp (which is just about all the information they give about their winch other than marketing BS) and the Warn was 1.9 hp. Looking at the Northern Tool website, the Warn has a line speed of 23.6 feet per minute and a gear ratio of 154:1.
When I compared those stats to the Viper Elite or the Venom or any of the others, the Warn Provantage 4500-s was the winner by far. Now if one considers cost–well, that is a decision to be made on how these factors impact your particular type of riding.
So as I thought about it, I came to see that the "pounds" rating isn’t of much value nor is the horse power rating. I think the line speed at a particular load is of the most value. Any opinions? Am I wrong?
Is anyone else having the problem with dirty intake? Ive got dirty muddy water in both the clutch and intake tubes. It has made it to my air filter but not past the filter. But it has made it into my clutchs.
I bought the Polaris PIDD 2.0 and the Polaris part #2880417 which is the premium roof with a MTX stereo that says Polaris, attached a picture of the stereo. I am going nuts traying to connect the PIDD and the stereo and haven’t been able to do it, I have the cable mentioned in another thread for the audio but I don’t find where this cable goes (part#2881652)
I have checked all cables and can’t find how to connect the PIDD to the MTX stereo, could somebody help me out? I have the car dissamble and can’t use it because can’t connect the stereo.
What wheels and offset are folks running with BFG KM2 Mud Terrains and staying as close to stock width as possible. Hassle free as well, mount and ride. I guess an update on what worked and didn’t too. I ordered Pro armor Crawler XG’s back in September but they are supposedly on Back order but you can purchase them from other dealers, I don’t get it. I am looking at canceling the order and going with something else. Thanks.
Looking at a new 4 seater. There will be a lot of weight in the rzr. Going to use it in dunes and street/desert in az sometimes. I can get a new 1k4 non turbo 19k. New 1k4 turbo 25. Wise to get non turbo and add aftermarket turbo later?
What were your symptoms? I am trying to figure out if I might have a crack or not and dont have time to take off the tube–
Mine has been running amazing, but seems to now fall on itd fave whenever its warmed up– itll get goi g fine, but seems to fall on its face around 40 ish– for those of you with a cracked tube, what were your experiences?
