Yet another blown motor

I’ve seen plenty of info on this forum regarding blown motors and now it’s happened to me. 2012 900 with 700 miles. I purchased it brand new in ’12. Dealer has it torn apart and determined catastrophic failure due to failed connecting rod. Actually put a 6" hole right through the case and shattered a piston. No other damage or burning whatsoever to other engine components including the bearings. Also purchased extended warranty through Polaris (Assurant) with expiration in August of ’15 and they are NOT covering it; claiming oil should have been changed 7 TIMES regardless of miles on the engine.

Anyone out there with a similar issue?

900 Xp suspension set ups

Hello,

I know I set up a ton of Xp 1000, but I also do 900s! They were around before the Xp 1000 was, and I know lots of us still have them! I still have my 900 2 seater! The xp1000 couldn’t touch me when it first came out with stock suspension !!

This is a set of my test Walker Evans 2.0 front needle bipass, and rear 2.5 needle bipass for sale! These have a "dune" tune valving and springs for a 2 seater! These will make quite a difference in the sand dunes! Your 900 will take on a new face!
These are used! But Not a ding in them! Just used in the sand for R&D.
$2000. I will cover shipping!

2014 RZR 900 Xp Preventing Issues down the road? Gusset,Guards,Bumpers,Filters

Hello Everyone

I recently just purchased a left over 2014 RZR 900. What I am looking for is answers to what I should do to prevent later issues on the machine. I have read ALOT of problems/ Issues with the 900 and I would like to know what people would have done different or wish they would have done in the beginning!! Issue that I have read for example Air filter blow by, "Ovaling bolt holes in the frame, front diff becomes lose, rear trailing arm issues when installing a hitch(bolt holes)!! Issues like that!!! I am looking for problems that will eventually become down the road if I do not take care of them now. I think everyone will agree that these machines are pretty pricey so I would like to make sure this thing lasts as long as it can without replacing the engine or frame.

Any good tips will help!! Ive searched all over and couldn’t find a post similar to this one will be helpful.

Also looking to add which accessories would or wouldn’t buy. which ones helped save the body and which ones created more of a issue with impacts.

Summary:
If you current own a RZR with many trail miles and came across wear and tear what do you wish you would have done different if you were handed a Brand New 2014 RZR 900 tomorrow!

hitch install on 900 xp

Why is it that the owners and service manuals say not to install a receiver hitch on the 900xp?
Is it due to the geometry or chassis?
I have a KFI receiver I want to install, it replaces the rear plate.

Thanks.
