Any vendors on here offering?
New Kartboy Aluminum Fender Washers.
Were live on the Kartboy dot com :: Polaris RZR website. I had all hands on deck this afternoon packaging them up.
Set of 20 pcs.
Choose from Hard anodized clear, Blue, Red, Orange or Raw aluminum for the DIY guys that want to finish them themselves.
We tried as hard as we could to keep the price at 35-37. After running all the numbers from material costs all the way to picking the parts up from the plate shop. We came up slightly over at 38.00 for the full kit.
100% made here in the USA using U.S. sourced raw materials.
XP900 bad starter?
So I thought either my voltage regulator or stator was out on my 900. The car had a nearly brand new Optima Yellow top in a EMP battery box (so it’s a group 34 street-car sized battery, not a little RZR sized one) so I was sort of ignoring it as a possible problem. Well, using my truck to get the RZR jumped and running I found the RZR was actually charging great. I left my truck hooked up on jumpers to act as the "battery" but turned the engine off so my truck wouldn’t be charging past ~12V yet I still saw 14+V at the RZR battery, indicating the charging system was working well.
So I replaced the batter thinking I had an easy (if not cheap) fix and then all I got was the "click" of the starter solenoid when I tried to start the RZR. So I get the cables back out and hook up my truck, start the truck, then have the GF hit the key on the RZR and I verify over 14V at the positive lug on the starter itself indicating there’s not a wiring or solenoid problem (I think).
So I guess my starter finally let go? The timing is crazy since it had started it early in the same day, but I guess I had been trying to crank the thing a ton with low voltage (which can burn up starters) and since the thing won’t ever really idle when cold, and won’t idle too long when hot I have to start it constantly.
So, how often do these starters actually fail? Is there a better aftermarket alternative? How bad is the install?
