my 2013 rzr XP900 now has 2200miles /220 hrs on motor. I was just wondering how inportent is it that i need to have valve clearance checked? the owners manual says 2000miles/200hrs….my rzr starts easy cold or hot and runs great. The one that is getting more noticeable is my hydraulic chain tensioner rattles more now at start up . i just change my oil with polaris 10w50 for summer time riding see if that help with start up rattle .

So I just bought a xp900 with a bad motor, after researching if I should rebuild it, buy a used one that runs, or buying a new crate motor. I have found out the 2012 are prone to this starter gear locking up binding and ruining the entire motor.. which is a design flaw and their is not fix or recall or solution, other than crossing your fingers and always being scared that starting your cart it may just break. Or at least this is what I get from reading a ton of posts about this issue. So what is my best option. Ive been told just swap in a 1000 motor, as its not impossible and be ahead of the game more power and no castrotrophic failures that I know of…any advice or insight anyone has please chime. I looked for 2 years to find a xp900 I could afford, and Im just trying to make the most intelligent choice without spending a ton of money

Has anyone confirmed in a 1000 gauge will work in a 900? The blue backlighting looks pretty cool.

More accurately, how much trailer can I move around with my ’11 XP900? I’m not actually looking to tow any great distance. I’m actually just wanting to be able to use the 900 to move around my trailer when we get to a campsite that is a little tight. I figure I’d drop the RZRs off the trailer, drop the trailer, park the RV, then use the 900 to "park" the trailer somewhere out of the way (that would be a PITA or impossible with the RV).

The trailer in question is a 20′ (so 24′ total length) deck-over flatbed. It’s a pretty stout trailer, it almost has a double frame (one like a typical trailer, one up at the deck height) with plenty of bracing between them and then a full wood deck. It has a tool box up front with a big Optima battery, a winch and lots of tie-downs). At some point I want to put a ~40 gallon fuel tank under it too:

I’m going to try to get the tongue and overall weight soon… but it is a bit tongue-heavy without anything loaded on it. I’d say the trailer is probably ~1800lbs by itself.

I know 1,800lbs is way more than a RZR is rated to truly tow, but is there any way my 900 could just move that trailer around? Will I just be bottoming out the suspension and doing a wheelie when I try to move it? Even in Low am I going to fry belts?

My friends rzr900xp blowing lots of oil from breathing tube,its like 200ml every 150 km,hi got few rollovers but we clean everithing out of oil and we add oil like spose to be -still same thing -any ideas?

I acquired a pair of 1000 seats and bought some 1×1 stock to weld to the frame – and have an opportunity to get 1000 pans w/built in sliders. I was wondering about the height differences…and this thread almost answers my question. Are the 1000 seats w/1000 pans the same height as 900 seats/pans? I also have a 900 slider in the drivers spot, which is kinda tall. Will the 1000 seat/slider pan be shorter than the 900 version? Good to know before I begin welding, etc..

So I had a bad ass full cage built , front and rear bumper tied in , got a sweet offer on my xp900 , problem is guy is taller and cage is 4in lower in rear and 4 in lower in front , IS THERE A WAY TO LOWER THE SEAT , need more than 1 inch For him to be happy . I might just sale the cage and put factory on for him but he loves the cage just to low for him .

Hello everyone I just bought a xp900 with a bad motor. Haven’t torn it open yet to see hats damaged but wondering what the best mods are? I was told to get jagged x cams and put kibble white valves springs and keepers. I was also told to swap in a rzr 1000 motor. Any advice would be greatly appreciated
