So it’s time for me to get a new set of skins for my XP900. I run rocky desert roads, and my buddy has had great luck with Mongrel’s on his Maverick.
So here is what I’m leaning towards…14" STI HD wheels and 28x10x14 Mongrels. I drove his Maverick about 25 miles this weekend and didn’t feel any issues that would warrant a clutch kit with the 28’s.
Does anyone have experience with this setup on their 900?
Who seems to have the best deal out there? I’m looking to buy 5. Discount Tire has gift card CC deals near the holiday’s, but I figured maybe someone knows someone who runs package deals on both, wheel and tire.
It looks like the valve clearance adjustment is with shims. So how often is the factory setting out of adjustment? Seems like a lot of work to change the adjustment, or am I missing something? Some have stated it is very important to check. Shim adjustment do no seem to change that much, do they? Or the shims hard to find at dealers? Very curious as it seems a major job to check and then adjust with having to pull the timing chain, cams etc.. What is your take and feedback.
I just purchased a 2011 Razr 900xp. It currently has 116 hours on it. Its basically bone stock. What is the first thing I should do besides change all the fluids? Should I change the belt? add a clutch kit? Are the High Lifter 3GX ATV Drive Belt by Dayco any good? (about $112 for one of those)
Just trying to figure out how to make this machine as reliable as possible…
Hello. I recently destroyed the front diff in my 2012 RZR 900. The whole housing around the input shaft snapped and broke. I am wondering if there is any company’s that make a complete aftermarket diff? Instead of going with the stock factory one?
long story short I need a starter should I buy a factory Polaris or some kind of an aftermarket I don’t wanna have to do this again if I can help it kind of a pain in the ass to get to… there looks to be a few options any specific brands to stay away from?
my 2011 xp has been leaking oil from around the starter it was seeping for a while then started leaking worse it looks to be leaking from the two o rings on the snout…
I read some threads on this and found it to be somewhat common and also found that people were having the starters fill with oil due to bad seal on starter so I pulled it apart and found it full of oil…
So I have a 2012 900 that stalls almost every time after given fuel. When let off of the throttle it’ll bog down and either stall or come close to stalling. Has a built motor with ported and polished heads, hd buckets and everything redo. Any ideas on what it could be? I have a video of it but can’t get it to upload. Any suggestions would help. Thanks.
The transmission is in trouble wondering if some one can help
It is sloppy and grinds when going into low gear but it gets in
The high gear gets in OK but to get it out you have to beat the shiftier to get out of gear, it goes into reverse and park and neutral no problems.
Took it to the dealer and he told me you have a transmission issue….Give him 3 grand and it will be fixed.
I have the mechanical knowledge to fix but want to know if anyone have had this issue in the past, and how to fix it? any ideas will help
I am looking for information about the Polaris Stage II ECU flash you would get when you buy a Stage II kit. I have intake, exhaust, clutch, fuel controller already so I just did the cams instead of the entire kit. I am curious about the ECU flash, if Polaris will sell just that, and if it interfaces well with the Yoshimura PIM2. I also have the O2 DATA mapper from yoshimura but I am waiting on an x-pipe so it has not been installed yet.
So I went to go order up some bearings for my gearcase and found out that they only put 1 Japanese bearing in the case and the rest were made in China. The input shaft bearing was the only one made in Japan. Why would they do that? Why not just make them all in China? I also noticed that almost all the gears are the same as the xp1000. After all my XP was assembled in Mexico.
