Actually praising Polaris’ customer service

Well, I have been on the losing side of a battle or two with past RZR’s and have been, let’s just say less than pleased with Polaris and their enthusiasm in declining obvious warranty issues, but this go around I think they’re owed an "atta-boy". I bought a brand new RZR 1000 4 turbo in October (my 4th RZR) and after exactly 360 miles on it, a belt broke. I followed all break in procedures to the letter yet still a broken belt on the new improved clutch. Well, To make a long story short, 185 miles later my dealer found that my clutch was defective and was able to get the primary, secondary and the belt replaced under warranty completely on Polaris’ dime. The clutch was defective from the get go and they did the right thing. Talked to more than two dealers who (justifiably so from past experiences) said there was almost zero chance Polaris would cover any clutch related problem regardless of the mere 545 miles on my unit. I shopped around until I found the dealer who said they’d fight for me rather than right my problem off as simply "my problem". So thanks Polaris, for standing behind what you made.

Insurance for XP4T

I’m shopping around for insurance for the new machine, tried Markel – noticed they did not have the XP4T in their drop down list of available 2016 machines, so, I emailed them, asking for a quote on it, the reply:

"Thank you for your email, we would decline this risk 2016 Polaris rzr xp 4 turbo (electric power steering). it is a race design and we are not rated for this type of risk. Thank you for looking into Markel for you insurance needs."

Going to check with my current insurance company (State Farm – yeah, I know, they’ll probably want my other arm/leg…).
