The plastic sliders are wearing the aluminum. I have five hundred dune miles and my buddy has 800 and his primary broke over the weekend. Polaris needs to address this as there is going to be a lot of unhappy riders out there. Pull your cover and inspect where the plastic sliders ride on the aluminum.
Put about 200 miles on rzr this weekend. this is my first rzr, im a 2wheel guy and run foam tubes, so i never have a flat. i was carrying a good plug kit, big tool kit and a small pump.
how many of you are carrying spares compared to those who arent?
I have taken my stage one tuned xp4t out for two different weekend trips to Glamis and after the third or fourth dune run I encountered belt slippage. I took it a bit easier a after that and changed the belt when I returned home. This last weekend was back at it in the dunes and same thing, belt slippage after the third or fourth dune run. So I changed the belt and went on nursing it compared to how I wanted to drive it. I did notice that the first belt looked pretty glazed. Does anyone know what is recommended, as far as clutch mods, Where should I go wand what is the costs roughly. Thanks!!!
So dealer said Polaris is not covering axles under warranty. The half shaft needed to repair is only $37.50. Has anyone tried aftermarket? Anyone heard of issues (1k or turbo) with using a stronger axle (broken diff, etc)?
The local dealer had already had 5 turbo axles denied. Obviously they cannot hold the power. Mine broke turning in hard pack, on the loaded side. No spin, no lift. Just could not hold the torque and snapped the half shaft at spline for inner CV.
So the question: fix this axle and buy a spare OEM, or replace with Gorilla or similar? And why.
Just bought mine and used the stock set up in the desert.
Planning on a dune trip. Need your help:
1. Do I really need paddle tires for sand?
2. If so, would appreciate an economical paddle tire recommendation. I’m in Orange County.
3. For rear, can I just get them mounted on some additional stock rims?
4. If possible, I would like to just use the stock front tires and rims in the tunes, any issues with this?
Hi there — I just purchased a 2016 XP4 Turbo EPS and will take delivery next week. I want to buy an open aluminum trailer for it and am wondering what others are using? I would like to stay as short as possible, but it doesn’t look like a 12′ trailer is long enough. Any recommendations would be appreciated.
Also — I’m thinking about getting a cover. The Polaris site says there’s is "trailerable"… but at $400, I’m not sure I would want to chance it. Any experiences with that cover or recommendations for others?
It’s been about 4 years since I sold my 2012 XP900 to buy a house
I finally decided I’ve spent enough time on the sidelines , so I took a drive to Berts (where I buy all my toys) and picked up a 2016 XP4T (actually I had it delivered)
Now that I have the house, the RZR build will not happen nearly as fast, but luckily I have a few things laying around.
The maiden voyage happens today! Headed out for New Years to break it in and have some fun!
So I love the new 4 turbo but here at my house 40 acre track I am bottoming out and have the compression all the way stiff. What next? I’m thinking shocks will have to be re-valved and maybe new springs. Adding more tension to the springs won’t help me with bottoming out will it? I am under the impression that adding tension to the springs will only help with the ride height am I correct on this? I do have to say I’m going pretty big at speed to bottom out but I am so I will want more. I am going aprox 35-45 mph hitting a 4-5′ tall table top, clearing the ramp back down and landing flat.
