All-Around Tire?

I’m new here. Just bought a 2015 XP 4 1000 and am researching all-terrain tires. I’m looking for the best all-round tire for all riding except the sand dunes. Triple S Polaris in Utah recommends the EFX Motohammer. Some of you have talked about the Tensor Regulator.

Thoughts? Pros and Cons? 30" or 31"? 14" or 15"? I appreciate your thoughts and experience.

Question

Had my 2015 since I had to pre order when they came out now, since in Washington state no real designated trails except jeep trails and rub, bought a full utv skid plate. I want bigger tires for more clearance. My question would be what’s the biggest size I can put on my 2015 without breaking anything? And would I need a lift kit? Sounds pretty hairy to lift the thing that can go so fast, but I like the stance of the Baja utv’s. I’ve seen a few videos of the 1k with 33’s thought I could do that. Any input would help me out, looking to buy right after my wedding June 13th 🙂

VW Thing Body on a RZR XP41K

I know many of you are going to tell me its a waste of time. But I have a 1973 Thing that has some sentimental value to me. (I bought it when I was 15 with money from a paper route and selling a BMX bike). It was my project car I tooled on all through high school. I have held onto it for the last 20 years with hopes to one day tube it out and turn it into a pre-runner.

Other projects have always taken precedence over getting the Thing the TLC it deserves. But now I am thinking it might be time to start turning this dream into a reality.

Measurements are pretty darn between the wheelbase of an XP41K and a Thing. The XP is just a couple inches longer. But with how I am planning on cutting the rear fenders the extra length won’t be a problem.

I have scoured the internet and only found a tubed out XP1K that someone put a Baja Bug front end on. Anyone out there seen other reincarnations of XP’s or VW’s?

I am thinking it will be 95% RZR with just a Thing body on it. I have a fabricator and builder just waiting for me to pull the trigger. I cannot think of a better marriage. It will be a Utah Street Legal XP41K with a fully retractable canvas top and opening doors.

As reliable as the old 2110cc is that has been in there since 1996 It will be nice to replace it with a Turboed 1k Motor. I think it will also be a great chance to get a new long travel kit.

I am probably just four months away from pulling the trigger. But when it finally happens it will be well documented in this thread.

Essurance insurance- 2015 xp4 1000

I am with Essurance for my 2011 4 800. With very good coverages 100/300 etc.. I was paying $406 per year for my wife and I. (50+ ages with excellent history) With the same coverages the new quote was over $1900 per year!! Has anyone else experienced a huge difference with Essurance on the 1000 model? I know its a lot more expensive for brand new and being a 1000, but danggggg!!

Will be going to Farmers now.

Lock and Ride Storage

I really wanted to get the Lock and Ride Cooler Box but already have fitted the spare tire holder part number 2879464. The Polaris RZR accessories web description clearly states that the 2 will not work together. However the lock and ride STORAGE box does not carry the same caution. To me from the photos they look identical. Does anyone have any insight of experience of these products. I am wondering if Polaris is being over cautious here. To me it looks like if the spare wheel tire was mounted as high as possible and swung open when using the cooler box, it would work.
