I had a little rock sneak up on me. Only big deal was I was using the wifes rzr as I had already broken mine.
So I bought some big ass tie rods, actually they said bad ass on them.
Anyone using these big aluminum tie rods found a boot that is big enough to go over the oversized bolt that goes through the clevis?
I slid the boot over the bolt , but the passenger side looks like it will poke through the boot at any minute.
I tried to buy some stock ones but Polaris only sells the whole rack assembly and tie rods as one unit.
Or where can I buy some stock size/style tie rods?
Gotta get this fixed the couch is hurting my back.

Looking to upgrade to a way overdue XP4 1000 finally! I had the suspension done by Shock Therapyst on my 900 with excellent results. I know there are other companies that do shock upgrade kits with just upgrading the internal valving and spring kits as well…or is there? I seen another company here on the forum called Racer Tech? Never heard of them being that I live in Az. But my question is…is one of them better than the other? I also know that the 1000 is a whole new animal regarding suspension and know nothing yet regarding doing upgrades…Any suggestions from any one that has had work done by them? What worked and what didn’t? buy this VS buy that?
I will say that I want the very best that I can have regardless of price. Thanks in advance to any input..
So I’ve been looking for a nice used 14 or 15 with some decent options on it but the ones for sale are priced the same as what I can get a brand new 15 for, sellers aren’t realizing the $21K OTD the price on the leftover 2015’s.
So we don’t know what exact changes will be happening for a 2016, do I pick up a new 2015 for a good a great price, or pay a little more once rebates go away for the 2016?
Brother had a noise and vibration in the front of his brand new xp 1000 so we got to checking it out and narrowed it down to the front diff with a mechanics stethoscope. Pulled it apart along with a 2014 xp1000 diff i installed on my old xp900 that sounded good. After comparing to 2 diffs found that the 2014 had .026 gap between the pinion gear and housing. The 2015 only had .010 gap. Found a shim on the 2015 diff between the pinion bearings and pinion gear. Pulled the shim out which gave it the same amount of clearance as the 2014. Put diff back together, installed it in rzr and the noise and vibration is 100 percent gone.
Anyone know of a shop that could phase and balance my 2014 4 1000 drive shaft around the Salem Oregon area. Tried Six states and they said no go. Could travel a bit if needed.
Also can you get to it from the top or do you need to remove factory skid?

Big Polaris fan here until recently.
Last year i was in the market for a new polaris ATV after buying my son a RZR 170. So i was looking at the 400 HO and 570 sportsman.
After reading all the terrible reviews on the 570. I decided to pay $800 less and lose the 14 extra HP in favor of the reliable FUJI Carb motor.
Let me say it was THE BEST MOVE EVER as every 570 i see is broke down.
With a whole list of issues , while my 400 HO has 120 hrs and 700+ miles with nothing but a front wheel bearing replaced and we ride water on 28" Zillas. No axle issues , No Belt issues….
I ended up scoring a 2012 Grizzly 700 w/EPS for $4000 with only 40hrs and 300 miles. Snorkeled and On rims and 27" outlaws that were brand new…
So the Grizzly is mine and my wife rides the Polaris. I have a 2 year old and 5 year old and they love to ride with us… BUT the ATV is just too dangerous so we are talking a RZR 4.
NOW HERE IS THE ISSUE I HAVE….
A friend of mine purchased a RZR 1000 4 seater last month…. 1st ride the check engine came on and off the whole ride…. 2nd ride blew a belt and destroyed the crank shaft seal. Because there was some water in belt casing Polaris did not cover it. Even though he added a 5 year warranty. It ended up costing him $2600 which is 10% of purchase price on his very 2nd ride.. Not even 100 miles or broke in. So he got it out this past Friday and we go riding….. We go thru a small mud hole and he gets stuck cause his front tires are not turning… NOW his 4×4 is not working at all….
By the time he added wheels, tires, roof, bought a trailer, speakers, winch , etc ( he bought the best he could get) he is around $32-35k into it…. 3 rides and its broken again… He does not ride it crazy…. It is a 1000cc RZR with huge travel. They are made to ride fast and enjoy the ride… Not be with out it for weeks at a time waiting for repair and dishing out more money when he paid for warranty… Now i know Polaris is terrible about water warranty work but that aside why the hell is a brand new machine always broke…
I was lined up to buy a RZR 4 900 this weekend and now i am looking at can am’s or debating waiting for the new Yamaha 3cyl 900cc sport SXS that willl be coming out next year….
So i have 2 questions …
1) Are these junk? are u other owners having this issues?
2) what could wrong now? what would cause his Front wheels to not work? Maybe a actuator? I am going to try and help him get it fixed so he dont have to be with out it for another 3 weeks at dealership just to get tagged on another damn bill.
I am about to build a aluminum rear wing. I want to put a red and amber lights in it. I have seen several thin light bars in them but I can’t seem to find what I’m looking for on eBay. Does anyone have any suggestions or links to lights to use.
I am experimenting with household expanding foam to fill the gaps under the seats to stop the dust from coming in. I am wondering how it would hold up? if anyone has tried this yet?
I have blown through several belts and have asked the dealership about any recalls regarding the clutch assembly. Was told that Polaris will warranty the part but not the installation. They are requiring me to pay them to install. Anyone have any experience of that? Are there any other recalls out there?
