push to talk plate

I just received my new Assault steering wheel and ordered the PTT plate. For some reason I thought the cable goes thru the hub and now i am understanding it goes along the steering shaft. Does anyone have a pic of how you ran your wire and suggestions? I actually didnt have an issue mounting my PTT button somewhere else at first, and now im not crazy about running along side the steering carlom .

new 2016 rzr xp 4 1000

Have had our new 2016 rzr xp4 1000 out a few times on the dunes so far now. took it easy for a while to let belt break in. getting popping @ 55mph (hitting rev limiter I guess ). after an hour or so of running you can get past the 55mph with no popping and hit around 65-68 which im guessing is top speed for these on sand ?? anyone else having same problem hitting rev limiter @ 55mph. thanks did it both times on sand.

Overheat and shutdown of ’14 XP41000

I use my RZR for volunteer search and rescue and radio maintenence in the Arizona mountain areas. I was going up the road to White Tanks mountain on an incline called Alligator Hill, which is the primary incline for radio tower access at the top of the mountain range. It is about a 35 degree incline that is .5 miles long. We take this incline slow and steady in low gear. I am not loaded with passengers and we do not hotdog anything. On this incline the fan on the radiator did not turn on at the normal temp of ~ 200-205F. I’ve had this issue happen twice now, which is why I am very concerned.

The first time this happened, I wasn’t paying too much attention at the temp the fan finally turned on. I just noticed that the vehicle lost power and turned off. Looking at the temp on the first time this happened, I was shocked to see 245F. The engine turned off, and temps continued to rise to peak at about 255F. I sat on the incline and let the temps drop to about 235F, the entire time the fan was running on the radiator but obviously not doing any good since the water isn’t moving. As soon as I cranked it at 235F it started, and the temps plummeted below 200F. I then got to the top of the hill. I reported this to the dealer and brought it in for maint. They did nothing to address that issue.

Fast forward seven months later, I make the same trip again. It is 6PM at 90F. This time I am nervous and take extra care and attention to temps and the vehicle’s status. The temps were good for about 2/3 of the hill holding at ~ 200-210F. The fan was not on yet. When the fan hadn’t turned on by 225F, I was concerned and stopped going up the hill, stopped at idle, and waited. The temp continued to increase.. 230..235..240F.. then the fan started. I expected the temps to drop at this point and it did not. The temp continued upward, hit 245F, and then the engine died. At this point I knew things were going to get worse because of no moving liquid. The temp shot up to 255F again and I thought I was screwed. I could hear angry fluid movement coming from radiator overflow container. I have no idea how protected I am from exploding boiling water from the front compartment and was seriously scared I could get burned if something in front grenaded under pressure. I waited for it to get down to 235F again, the radiator fan blowing on the front water this entire time. I started it up and with water movement, the temp dropped under 190F nearly instantly. I then made it to the top of the hill.

I just called the dealer, and they are telling me that they will have to reproduce this issue to get Polaris to cover it. It’s well under warranty, and am kinda pissed that they are quoting me potential repair costs and costs to transport my vehicle to a place to reproduce it. Their response made me angry because they didn’t care about my situation, they were stressing about how Polaris won’t go off customer word alone and potentially deny any repair. If they don’t address this issue under warranty, I will dump this thing and never buy another polaris again. I upgraded from a 2 seater 2012 to this 4 seater and it is fully loaded.

What are your guys thoughts on my situation?

Anyone roll with NO EBS in the dunes?

Finally decided on the SLP clutch kit for my car, but can’t decide which helix to go with. They offer "slightly reduced ebs" or NO EBS. SLP said they love the no ebs so much in the sand they will swap out the helix even if it’s just for a day. I do ride trails a bit in the summer in Utah but i’m not concerned about not having EBS there, they aren’t that challenging of trails in Duck Creek.

I’m really leaning toward doing away with it completely as I think it would compliment my aggressive driving style in the dunes, but would like to hear anyone’s thoughts or feedback from experience with it.

2016 Battery Location?

It’s supposed to be under the driver seat, but there is nothing under there, just plastic that ramps down towards the back seats. Did they change the battery location in the XP4’s in 2016? I’m gonna have to trace the wires when I have some daylight if not…have a lot of lighting mods to install before tomorrow morning so this is pretty urgent! Appreciate the help…
