The voltage regulator runs very hot under normal conditions.
Usually to hot to hold your fingers on for more than a couple of seconds.

To much heat will kill any electronic device in short order.

Getting more air flow will help but transferring that heat through
more heat sink or metal mounting bracket will help the most.

I left the VR in its original location and added an aluminum heat sink under it.
Added lots of heat sink compound between VR and heat sink.

This setup allows it to run about 10 degrees cooler.

I may mount the VR and heat sink on the chassis frame somewhere, that would dissipate even more heat away from the VR.

For those that go in deep water with their Highlifter Editions, how well do the snorkels do? Does the belt case remain sealed and dry? Thinking about picking one up around the end of the year so I want to know about the things I may have to address for deep water/mud, if anything.

I have a 300 watt powered 12" sub and a 4 channel jbl marine amp 60 rms x 4. Running off the stock OEM battery on my rzr 1000. Runs and plays just fine while idling. But when I start riding it cuts in and out and won’t even let me engage 4 wheel drive. But when I turn off the system it goes to running fine again. What could be the problem? Don’t think the battery is not enough power since it plays and runs just fine at idle.

I have an extra OEM 2014 rzr 1000 battery that I picked up for free. Has anyone mounted another OEM battery to power stereo and whatever else? Where could I mount it? Thanks!
