Mine always used some oil but this week it started using a quart every 10 to 15 miles, got about 1100 miles on it. Anyone got any ideas? Riding in Ark. for a week.

Truck Tires
Has anyone run truck tires on 15" rims on their 1000? Tire like the Firestone Destination or the General Grabber A/T? I am thinking around 10 psi that they would work great and last forever. Same weight as Tensor regulator.

cage bearing spring clips
Does anybody make the sprague cage spring clips on the 15 xp1 besides polaris? I want to get rid of the cheap plastic sprague cage, but polaris doesnt sell the spring clips seperate and mine are trashed.

Think I found the magic wheel offset.
5 and 2 STI HD5’s. Relieved a lot of pressure off power steering. Put same on rear but added 1" 50 caliber spacers. Looks great. Bring rear out slightly wider than front.
ECM confusion
So a buddy of mine has a 1000. He kept blowing his EFI fuse.
He took a different friends ECM plugged it in a drove all day.
Here is where my confusion is. Some companies want $400 to flash the ECM Polaris dealership wants 1hr labor.
Some companies say the ECM comes blank and Polaris says it only needs your serial number flashed to it.
I think we’ve been getting screwed!
Any insight to this?

If any of you guys and gals are thinking about which Long Travel kit you want, hold your horses. NXS has teamed up with one of the largest titanium fabricators in the world. I will be releasing a titanium suspension kit and cage line soon.
We are doing extensive stress analysis/testing to make sure these parts are as strong as possible. Once we are done with the modeling I will post the stress analysis in a video so you can actually see what makes the design so strong compared to OEM or others.
The best part about this titanium long travel kit is that we predict the entire kit to weigh around 75lbs and be in the $6500 range COMPLETE!!!
I still sell my chromolly kits and they now have a higher clearance trailing arm design if you need a light weight kit now.

Start up rattle
I also had the rattle on start up. Spoke to the dealer they recommended extreme duty oil. (heavier) It help but if it sat for a few days still rattled on start up which is alarming to me. I bought and installed the Weller automatic cam chain tensioner and so far has been great. No rattle even after sitting for a week. As far as the install I ran motor to build up oil pressure. Turned it off. unscrewed the old tensioner ( stock one) then I installed screwed the new Weller one in. I did put the new tensioner in motor oil 1st and squeezed the plunger numerous times to prime the tensioner and push out any air so that on start up it would pressurize almost instantly. I didn’t do all the recommended timing procedures remove valve cover position valves etc. and it worked great. I got lazy and read that others had just screwed it in and it worked for them.
