My 1000 has around 900 miles on it and has been making a fairly loud ticking noise when the motor gets hot. I already have the Alba automatic tensioner and run either Rotella T6 or Amsoil 5w-50 with K&N oil filter. It sounds fine at startup and when warming up. Just when the motor gets up to operating temp it starts ticking almost like a lifter tick or loose valve clearance. I checked valve clearances, and all were within spec except one exhaust valve that was .011. Would that make it tick, or does anyone have any other suggestions?
So I was doing a visual to see if my spider nut had backed off and I see this spacer or washer just kinda floating there behind the primary spring. Shouldn’t a spacer or washer be behind the spring or whatever? Attachment 148189Attachment 148190

Hey guys. I’ve read a lot of threads on here about the dual battery option. I actually had this on my 900XP a while back using the Quadboss isolator with the additional battery. When I went up to the 1000XP I noticed the extra capacity large battery and elected not to do the same setup. I have just purchased the 2016 1000XP and after reading these recent posts, have considered going back to the dual battery with isolator configuration. I run the SSV overhead stereo, LED light bar, CB radio and whip sticks. These are the extras I planned on running to the 2nd battery.
My question is, there only seems to be one cable running to the current battery both + and -. With everything wired into these single cables running to the battery, how do you isolate the leads from the stater to route through your isolator? For those running a battery isolator, how did you run the wiring to your isolator? I ask because on my previous 900XP, these were separate wires. On the 1000XP, they are all tied in to one wire going to the battery.
My 2015 1000 has been sitting in the garage for about the past month or so. I went to take it down the street tonight, and the headlights started to flicker off. I turned the machine off, and then back on. Seemed ok until I got to a certain RPM, then the headlights and the gauge would turn off until I dropped back below that rpm. I lost power steering and the CEL came on. I also noticed a loss of power and when I would come back down to an idle, the engine struggled to run and even died.
Any ideas on what could be going on? Seems to be charging charging correctly. As a side note, the battery has been on a trickle charger. It’s actually headed to the dealer this next week for warranty work, but wanted to ride this weekend.
New to the forum and was wondering if someone can help me out. My tow vehicle is an 04 Tacoma so I don’t have the towing capacity that I would like. With that being said, has anyone ever tried to fit a RZR 1000 XPS into a 6×12 enclosed trailer? I like the added security of having my machine under cover and know that I will not be able to drive it on without having to crawl out of it. I’m just limited with the weight that I can tow and would like some input. Thanks
Anyone have any info if it will work or not?? Called them up and try told me to buy a new one then hung up so they weren’t much help… looks like it would watching the 2 install vid look the same just throw a new map for the 1000 and your good? Has anyone tried it??
