How do I determine clutch on 2014 XP1K 4

Anyone know how I can tell if my 2014 1000 has a 2014 Clutch setup or a 2015 clutch setup? I recently bought a 2014 1000 4 and when I went to buy a new belt the dealer asked if I had a 2015 clutch on it but I don’t know how to tell if the clutch has been upgraded or not. Please help…

Ratcheting noise from front differential

I know there’s a ton of threads on differential noise but I haven’t seen any with the type of noise I’ve had with my ’15 XP1K. Randomly I’ve had a ratcheting noise that appears & scares me that my diff is about to explode then it goes away as quickly as it started. It sounds like something is partially engaged. It happens after running 4wd for awhile & I’ve flicked the 4wd switch off & back on to no effect. When it makes the noise it will continue while in 2wd. It’s happened while casual trail riding at 10 mph or less so it wasn’t being pushed hard.

I also noticed the RZR seemed to pull to the left when the noise was occurring like something in the driveline was in a bind. I rolled to a stop and put into neutral to see if that would help but it didn’t. I didn’t think about trying reverse at the time.

The differential is quiet most of the time, even when pushed hard riding fast. This will be my first time tearing into one of these so I was hoping to get some advice on what could cause this intermittent ratcheting noise and what to look for.

Thanks!

HLE extended warranty

Any recommendations for extended warranties for the high lifters. I realize Polaris doesn’t offer one but I was just curious to see how some of you have faired with your aftermarket warranties.

Thanks

Need help building custom RZR for Gold Prospecting

I’m building a vehicle which is going to be used ONLY to drag a metal detector drag coil through the goldfields of Western Australia.

The terrain I am driving on is flat, some small rocks but mostly clay like mud about 2-3 inches deep max in most places on a hard rocky base. I will be driving it only at 5 miles per hour at all times. There is no time that I will be going faster than that.

I want to use the RZR because it has lots of clearance to run big tires. If there is another ATV that you can recommend as an alternative I would be interested in knowing. My biggest problem is clearance for running huge tires.

I intend on running 39 inch tires… YES 39 inch. The reason for this is for ground clearance. The tires are skinny, the size will be 8.3 inches wide 995mm (39 inches). Do you think that the axles are strong enough to run such big tires? Like I said, I am driving at walking pace only at all times. I may decide to use wider tires if they are not too heavy.

These are the tires I am going to use. I am going to mount them on Crush Lock rims so that they can be run with out air (punctures are inevitable as there are lots of spikey things out there)

Crush lock rims similar to these but 24 inches

Any advice would be good, especially about stuff that may break.

This is the terrain I am going to be driving over, it looks hard but it is actually super slippery clay about 2-3 inches deep on a hard pack base. (hence the tractor tires) The terrain is almost impossible to traverse in a 4×4 without diff locks as the tire treads get clogged with clay and turn into a racing slick.

Somewhere out there are HUGE gold nuggets worth millions and I want to find me one.

I will be towing a rubber mat about 15 feet long with a metal detector coil nearly 3 feet wide. Total weight of that is about 100 pounds.

Need some enclosed trailer advice PRONTO!

How many of you in the XP1K forum are also snowmobilers?

My wife, who has the attention span of a fruit fly, just made the comment that perhaps we should invest in an enclosed trailer. After 20 years with this woman, I know that I should act quickly before she changes her mind. 🙂

I’ve searched the forum, but haven’t found the exact information I’m looking for. That’s the purpose of this post.

I need a V-nose (with front ramp) trailer wide enough to carry sleds side-by-side, that’s also tall enough to load our stock XP1K with factory roof. I do not foresee us making any suspension mods to the XP that would increase it’s height, but switching to 30" tires from the 29" stockers may be necessary in the future. Overall length (tip of the hitch to taillights) can not exceed 25 feet, or it will not fit behind my privacy fence. Must fit four snowmobiles, or the XP1K and two ATVs. I live in Oregon, so west-coast availability may be a challenge.

Do any of you own (or know of) a trailer that fits this criteria?
