I’m trying to decide which way to go with my stock shocks on my XP 1000 anybody has any input between these three or any others. The whole reason for the shock service because I’m going to start a short course series of races. Thanks all for any help.
I came across a great deal on a Warn RT40 Wide Spool Winch meant for install in a Ranger 500 at the dealership that was new in the box for $100 yesterday during their black Friday sale. I have searched and read a lot, and most of what I’ve read is conflicting information suggesting some people have been able to get a wide spool winch to fit using various different winch plates but having to enlarge the frame opening, and some people who have installed them without trimming the opening…. I also see that Polaris sells a 4500lb "Pro" winch that is a wide spool, so I’m not sure why the frame would need to be trimmed. Has anyone here recently installed a wide spool winch in a ’15 XP 1000, and if so did they have any issues?
I have a 2014 rzr 1000 with 300 miles on it and check engine light came on as well as the steering wheel light. I have only ridden this in the desert and it has never been ridden in mud or water. It ran fine all week and when i went to load it after sitting all night the warning lights came on and i noticed i have no power steering now. If anyone has experienced this your input would be greatly appreciated..
So over the course of the past weekend, I’ve had troubles when trying to start my rig. Tonight it acted up again, so I figured it was time to finally post and maybe get some guidance here since I’m now out of warranty as of the 15th.
So tonight I drove down the street to a buddy’s place, where it then sat outside in about 25 degrees for about 3 hours. I came out to start it, and when I turned the key over nothing happened. Usually you can hear the fuel pump cycle and the lights come on(i think). Tonight I heard absolutely nothing. The speedo/gauges came on like normal, and I did notice the check engine light on. I tried to then start the rig, and nothing happened. It was like the unit was dead, but it wasn’t. It would not turn over or anything. The voltage gauge read 12.4-12.2. I noticed the interior light was working, but very dim. After a few times of trying to get it to start and cycling the key, the fuel pump finally ran. After it started, the lights did not want to work. About 10 seconds after starting, they just turned on. From there it ran fine and started right back up once I got home.
There were also a few times this weekend where the rig would start, but I would get a check engine and power steering light. This was alway during a cold start…both cold engine and cold outside. It would all go away after it was running for a while.
A little background…it was just at the dealership for a few items. One of them being a voltage regulator for charging issues and the recall for the fuel tank/vent. I’m not sure if any of this would be related, but figured I would add this info just in case.
Any help or direction would be great! To be honest, I’m getting pretty frustrated with all things Polaris right now. This machine seems to have more problems than anything I’ve ever owned. If I don’t find anything tomorrow, I’ll be touching base with the dealer on Tuesday(not open Mondays 🙁 ) to discuss my options. It seems like they never want to cover anything anyways so I’m sure I’ll just be going down a rabbit hole.
Is the High Lifter Edition a limited run by Polaris? I have seen this eluded to around the net. I would like to buy one but will not have the money together till this summer. Don’t want to miss out on this great machine.
Is anyone out there plowing snow with their XP 1000? I’m seriously considering buying a 2015 model but not sure how they are with plowing. Can anyone shed some light on the pros and cons of plowing with this machine and which components from which vendors work best?
