I had a bad steering rack, so I’m going to be replacing it with a new oem one that I got a good deal I couldn’t pass up. I see the rack has white paint on the housing and on the shaft. Do I align the white paint marks to center my rack before installing?
I have 2015 High lifter 2 seater XP1000. I have reviewed xp4 and 2 parts diagrams looking at how these are built. *Also I’m completely aware it would be way easier to buy a factory 4 seater, but I have several reasons I want to go this route*
Reasons in Missouri, once you make the frame custom… you can do special inspection with Missouri Hwy Patrol with a 551 form and title as dune buggy which then leads to street legal. We have no other way to be street legal.
2nd selling and buying another I would financially take a bath both times.
So, most stuff is buy parts and add to my 2seater, exceptions would be I extend my own wire harness and I will extend the frame sections the rest is simple. From my research.
I ran out of time to go into more details, but will ad back my parts list and thoughts at a later time.
How reliable is this lift? Will the axles hold up? Will the front diff and transmission hold up? What clutch kit to run with? Does anyone have any input to give? Planning on running 34 to 36 terms?
Hi guys, just bout a New 2016 RZR XP 1000 today , boy its a nice unit. big step up from my 13 rzr xp 900 witch was awesome. cant wait to hit the trail soon . been doing alot of reading on this fourm about noisy front diffs and mine as of right now is quiet thank god LOL part number on Diff is 1333597… I’m prying that it stay quiet.
Is there anything special i should do before putting some trail miles on her?
I know everyone wants louder exhaust, but on long rides it resonates in my head at certain rpms. does anyone make an aftermarket exhaust thats quieter it needs to be legal on the trails also spark arrestor. or can i repack mine ? also i dont want to loose hp.
I recently bought a new 2015 RZR XP4 1000 sight unseen on the basis that it was a brand new model in California. Apparently they received these from the mid west however the one they showed me had 15 miles on the odometer, worn tires, minor damage to the plastics and no owners manual or tool set. I’m getting a decent deal at 22k OTD (for Cali) with a 5 year warranty but should I be worried that this was a demo model or something else? They did replace the tires and rims with brand new ones and I checked the air filter and it appeared to be new but still suspicious. Thank you for any advice.
I am in the middle of doing some maintenance and decided to check the belt on my RZR. I am not entirely sure if it is still good or not. I haven’t noticed much difference but figured I would be on the safe side. I cleaned it and hit it lightly with a scotch brite pad. It appears to be alright but I wanted to see if anyone had any input.
The cord near the outside of the belt cant be felt the entire way around but there are a few areas where is it smooth. I don’t know if this is an issue or is normal. I have a brand new gates belt and it feels the same as the polaris belt on the smooth secitions. The album below has pictures of both sides of the belt.
It also has a picture of my used polaris belt vs the new gates belt. I have been looking and cannot find any specifics on the belt thickness when new. The Polaris one is measuring around 1.20 inches while the gates is around 1.26 I believe. Is this normal? Has the polaris worn down that much? Should I replace it?
I would prefer to go back with the polaris belt due to it being broken in and a ride coming up.
I’m gonna lift the rzr after 1700 hard miles.. Gonna change up riding style a little bit. 32 or 34 inch terms are def the tire I will go with but just wondering if anyone had any input on which lift to go with. And maybe what it looks like with 32s compared to with 34s? Thanks!
Does anyone know of a dealer in or near Arizona where my friend, a first time buyer, can get the best RZR deal? Abernathy’s sounds good, but it’s a bit of a drive from here. Thanks in advance for your help.
