15 frog skins on upper intakes

Does anyone know where you can find just the frog skin on the outside of the upper right and left intakes? I want to put these on my 14 and was just at the Polaris dealer and I was shown in the parts guide that Polaris will sale it in only a right and left whole assembly for $75 dollars a side. Typical Polaris rip off like all the other parts they sale. Thanks for your input!

Dealer Shout out!

My XP1k has been babied. 1st 100 KMs the front diff went , My Dealer, Route 1 Motor Sports here in Lower Sackville Nova Scotia, got me a new Diff, that has been strong since replacement. No marbles now. About 2 weeks ago while riding at night my lights/power flashed on/off/on, felt like power steering also went. I did my due diligence and measured stator wires (OK) then measured VR output… Power off battery had 12.5, with the motor running, 11.8 and it would never rise above that.

I called Route 1 and they said to bring in the VR. I did, no testing, very little discussion as I was 6 weeks past warranty.
The Service manager also warned me that a new one will be north of $275.00.

I came home and used this forum to find a "better way"

I ordered Ricks VR for $150.00 not expecting anything from Polaris.

Wonders never cease….. The Service manager at Route 1 Called me and said Polaris will replace it.

This company (Route 1) are great guys, offering knowledgeable advice on service, also on where to go fast. I am happy and confident that they have my back for any future issues (fingers crossed)

Thats it. Not many happy stories these days, but this is one that made my day!

Yet another exhaust thread

Guys:

Trying to get a real feel for the smart choice on exhaust systems. I’d like to run a tuner (likely a BMP), and it seems that major gains are gained with the exhaust upgrade as well. However, I hate loud pipes. I want good breathing, but as quiet as possible. Some very respected manufacturers claim that the factory header is very good on the XP1K units, so a slip-on is all that is necessary. Others claim an aftermarket header is required. What do you guys think?

Sorry to start another thread on this topic, but I didn’t see one that really addressed the conflicting info. Has anyone run this combo (quiet slip-on, factory header, tuner)? Has any testing been done to show that the louder pipes are more effective? And is anyone confident that the header replacement is necessary?

Thanks!

Tom
