Clutch Sheave Broke in Two Pieces

Well, with a little over 300 miles on my 2014 XP1000, my clutch sheave (the metal disc pressed into the primary clutch that lets the belt ride along on it) has broken in two and damaged the secondary clutch sheave. I was riding in some water (about 2 feet) when I lost drive power (possibly to to belt slippage/failure/overheating) and then the clutch sheave ruptured.

The primary clutch sheave has major porosity in the casting upon inspection of the busted in half part.

I brought the unit (out of warranty) into Polaris per their recommendation. They sent pictures to Polaris asking for a good will replacement of the primary clutch. My dealer has never seen this issue, but I certainly have see the issue on forum posts (possibly from this board).

Polaris came back with an a-holish response saying that porosity is natural in casting. They claimed the clutch was broken due to pry marks. *screeching halt noise* Excuse me? Why would I pry on my clutch? They also indicated the clutch case gasket was damaged and may have allowed in dirt. Prior to opening the case up for inspection, I had never gone in there. The machine sits in my garage 90% of the year.

I am seeking advice at this point.

A new Polaris primary and secondary clutch replacement will cost over 1500 dollars. If Polaris won’t cover this repair, riding season is out of the question for me this year. I am also contemplating ditching this unit. I have $17k that I owe on it, and if the wimpy thing can’t even handle 2 feet of water with it’s poorly designed belt drive system, it has no purpose being in my garage. Polaris obviously identified the issue with their response of the vented belt housing.

Has anyone else had this issue? Do you recommend I call customer service and work directly with them to communicate my issue? Should I file for a lemon law claim?

Any advice, phone numbers, or solutions you can offer are greatly appreciated.

Heel Clicker Clutch Kit

Anyone running a Heel Clicker clutch kit on their 2015 XP1K?

I’m interested in feed back on overall performance.

From what I’ve read in other threads sounds very interesting… anyone with comparisons to other kits they have run would be great…

tweeter mounting location?

I’m in the process of mounting an additional 4 tweeters to my XP 4 1000. I want them up high and aimed at the passengers. I have decided that I need to mount them to my rollbar front and rear. Any ideas how to mount them to the rollbar? I really don’t want to drill holes in the rollbar. But I don’t mind mounting something on the bar with possible a worm screw clamp or similar mounting devise.

Any ideas would be appreciated, and pictures even better!

Tranny Problems HHMMM!!

So a few weeks ago I was out riding, went through a not so bad hole, broke rear axle (Cobra) and continued driving through some extremely bad mud/water trail when I heard a few popping noises in rear. Rear started locking up off and on but I finally made it out with the help of some riding buddies who pulled me through 85% of the trail and back to my truck.

So it was in the shop where after the tranny was pulled it was found that 2-3 gears where broken (badly). It looked like (possibly) the bearing was cracked and a ball might have gotten wedged between the gear causing complete failure within the pinion gear assembly section (if I’m saying that right).

Lucky for me warranty is covering all but the taxes.

Has anyone had a similar breakage as this ?

Rackzilla heim joint bolt

Quick question… the rackzilla doesn’t include the bolts for the heim joints on the end and the factory comes with typical tie rod ends. What am I supposed to use for bolts? The factory steering knuckle has a taper in it for the ends to seat. I have searched and I haven’t found an answer.
