New XP1k with 12hrs Crank Leak

2015 New XP1k with 12hrs on it. I noticed some oil in the belt cover. Its a couple of table spoons probably. I took it into the dealer and they told me its the crank seal leaking oil and the motor would have to be pulled. They said it should be no problem getting warrenty to cover it.

They can’t get at it for nearly a month and I have a riding trip coming up so I think I’m going to put off fixing it till I’m back. I probably will put on about 10 to 15 hr of riding. Dealer said I should be ok if I keep an eye on it and and check my oil often.

There has also been talk here of replacing the crank seal without spliting the cases. Has this been done successfully with the 1k ? Should I even consider this or just go ahead and let the dealer pull the engine and do it right?

Rear bumper and 2″ receiver hitch…..

I’m finally getting around to buying a rear bumper. Part of the delay was finding a bumper that wouldn’t interfere with the installation of a 2" receiver hitch. I’m also looking for one that’s easily removed or has access to service the rear diff/transmission. Before anyone asks, I’m not planning to actually tow anything. I’m planning on building several different quick-detach impliments like a chainsaw caddy (for springtime trail clearing) and a fuel rack (for my new metal jerry cans).

Anone care to share your bumper and hitch set-up??
