2013 800s will not start

I was on a trail ride today. We stopped to have a sandwich and eat some watermelon. I got back in the razor and try to start it, the engine turned over but would not start.I had to get it towed back to the main road. Can someone please help me diagnose this problem.

800S rear clicking noise

Thought I throw this out there to see if anyone has experienced this noise. While out last weekend I took off and heard a slight clicking from the rear. Got out and had it driven slowly and it sounds as if its in the axles/ rear end. The front axles and the driver side rear axles have slight side to side movement but the rear passenger side does not. Nothing visible and boots are good. Anybody run into this before? rzr is a 2011 model. Thanks.

Fluid change question …

My BIL and I were doing our first fluid change on my 2012 800S LE and got to the rear gearcase as we had already done the Main gearcase and the Transfer case. We drained the fluid and replaced the drain plug. We were adding the ADF (Angle Drive Fluid) but the fluid started coming out of the fill plug at only 16oz and my spec sheet says it takes 26oz. We were working in my garage on a concrete floor.

Is the garage floor that unlevel causing a difference of 10 oz? I checked the floor where the razor was sitting with a four foot level and it is definitely not perfectly level but that still seems like a lot of difference in what the spec calls for. I cannot think of any other reason though.

Blown rear differential 2012 800s

Hey, I haven’t posted much, but have been reading a bit here and there.

This weekend my RZR stopped in it’s tracks. It was bleeding all over and there were chunks of aluminum on the ground.

The rear end blew to bits.

The RZR is a 2012 with very little miles. I think it’s got under 150 hours Maybe closer to 100. I’ll have to check and update the thread. It’s basically new.

Anyways, first I was extremely disappointed at how much time and tools it takes to get the rear end out. This should take like 30 minutes, but it took three or four hours. There is a wild mix of hardware including a variety of sizes and both metric and standard. Then, most of the hardware is difficult to get to. My 11 year old had to use his small hands to reach some of the bolts after they were loosened. Really looking forward to putting a new one back in.

I was thinking what would I have done if this happened on a trail!!!!?? I was very fortunate to have broken down near my shop and dragged it back with my Ranger, but even that was a challenge.

Next, when finally got the thing out, the input spline was broken. At first I thought this was what happened. But that wouldn’t explain the pinion jamming through the case.

Then I noticed that the nut was completely off. At first I thought it might have sheared off, but all the threads were fine.

I talked to somebody at Hawk Engineering that used to sell the heavy duty housings and he confirmed that they often have problems with this and they typically remove the nut and locktite it on.

When the pinion nut comes off, the pinion gear slides between the ring gear and the housing causing a catastrophe.

My question is if Polaris is taking care of their customers on this? This is a clearly a design flaw. I’m out $1900 for what is clearly poor engineering.

I’m thinking there are millions upon millions of cars on the road with differentials driving tens and hundreds of thousands of miles and I’ve never heard of a pinion nut loosening up.

Another thing is that this is clearly either a design problem or there are random RZR’s that weren’t torqued properly. I don’t know, but i know it should never happen, no matter what.

Has anybody else had this problem or know of anybody that has?

Any info would be great.

2009 rzr 800 s clutch kit

Looking for a clutch kit for my 09 rzr s.

Been noticing the epi and SLP clutch kits are for year 09 and s models only. The 09 s must have a different clutch setup then other years? Just want to make sure I order the correct kit the first time. I ride mostly trails in the woods and looking for more bottom end without reducing top speed.

A-arm mounting tab washers

Does anyone know a supplier for the hardened washers (besides Racer Tech) that one would weld to the a-arm mounting tabs when they get egged-out? RT is out and shows backorder. I didn’t see any on SATV or RMATV web sites. Can someone point me in the right direction? I would really like to use the hardened washers instead of running up to the local hardware store and grabbing something off the shelf. Or maybe there is another option thru Mcmaster/Carr? Please advise if you get the chance.

Thanks
