Hello to all the 800 RZR S owners and if your are a polaris engineer all the better. Here in Australia the biggest issue with outback riding is the fine dust. I have been designing a snorkel suitable for my use, and carried out a lot of research on the snorkel topic. Most snorkel kits just seem to extend the 3 pipes , from below the plastic cover to above and they are then places between the 2 seats, I thought this be an odd place to terminate the pipes because the area is still prone to a lot of dust. So the issues to consider is carby intake, CTV box intake and exhaust venting. CTV cooling is a must for belt life and clean engine intake air is a must for engine life.
Has anyone considered this, a snorkel air intake located just above the roof level on the passenger side to minimise air suction noise to the driver, now thinking outside the circle , just having 1 air intake pipe, so what we have in effect is the engine is sucking air so the air enters the piping above the roof line nice cool clean air , it gets sucked into the CVT box and out then into the standard air filter box , theoretically , the engine acts as the air pump thus cooling the CVT box
What do you guys think of that idea, feel free to say good or bad thoughts
Remember ride hard or go home
Hello…
I’m prepping for a trip to WV in a couple weeks. When I put my RZR up in the air I noticed the rear wheels felt like they had a good bit of slop in the bearings. I checked out the A-arm bushings first just to be sure, but the slop is definitely in the hub. Once I pulled the hubs off and separated them from the carrier, the bearing itself feels new. I can’t see any slop at all in it. It spins smooth, looks new(ish), and doesn’t have any percepatble wobble at all. Is there any possibility that theres slop between the hub itself and the bearing? I don’t want to replace bearings if they don’t need to be replaced.
I should add, the hub and carrier came apart SUPER easy. Removed the castle nut on the half shaft, unbolted the carrier from the suspension arms, and the whole ordeal just kind of fell apart. There was no beating the axle out of the hub/carrier or prying the hub and carrier apart. The hub came out of the bearing so easily that THAT is why I wonder if there is inherent slop there.
Hello everyone,
I’m pondering the idea of trading in my razor. I’m sure everyone dislikes these threads, but I’m kinda baffled at the trade value I got on my rzr800s LE. My razor is very clean, 20 hrs, low to no miles, needs nothing and they offer me $6700 for it. They didnt see it in person, but I sent the dealer pictures, and fully described it and its condition, but the salesman says they can’t give me the right price until they see it. I told them for $6700 I’m not even gonna bother loading it and driving an hour to them for them to look at it. I know if they started that low on value, they aren’t gonna tack on another $1300 to $1500 because I was telling them the truth about its condition. I mean, what good does it do me to lie, and get a new deal setup, and then have to cancel the deal because I Lied?? I see these things listed locally at dealers for around and over $10,000, and on craigslist for between $8500 an $10000. I was thinking a fair trade offer would be $8500, seeing they dont have to do a thing to my machine, its practically new!!! I know a dealer needs to make some money on the deal, but I’m sure they are making money off the 3 new machines I’m buying off them, and then they want to make $3000 off my trade?? Not gonna happen! Can some members that have gone through this give me some insight on thier experiences?? Thanks
Have read many threads about the pinion nut backing off and the consensus seems to be Loctite 277 cures the problem. Has anyone had any pinion nut issues after using the Loctite 277? Anyone with any miles on their rig since using Loctite?
Hello folks been a while since i was on here, its been a while since ive been doin any buggyin at all. I clipped my front passenger wheel back and i havnt had a chance to get it sorted but im leavin it up with mechanic tomorrow, in the meantime ive bought mysel a 2012 arctic cat wildcat 1000 to give it a go but i havnt ridden it yet cause its also goin to the mechanic tomorrow aswell to get a bunch of parts fitted like winch bumpers roof screen lightend steering bigger brakes and a wet clutch delete kit then it has to go to the disability place to get hand controls fitted so i have been busy, i wonder how it will compare to my rzrs il report on that soon as i get a drive in it plus i shud have my track ready by then. Anyways back to the point, my friend just bought the bog standard mcx express turbo kit for his 2008 rzr, we watched a bunch of videos on you tube with boys sayin they bolted it straight on with no reliability issues. So long as my friend doesnt get to silly with the boost level is it safe enough to just bolt straight on? Can he get away without changin the crankshaft so long as he is sensible with the boost? Thanks for any further advice
