Hello, first of all the machine is stock aside from cosmetics.
It has been on and off jerky when the belt finally grabs to take off. It seems worse in cold weather. It also doesn’t seem to top out much past 40mph which I think is kind of weak. I added a snorkel kit to it and since then, the only riding I have done is a 14 lap brolite truck course with two jumps. After it was over I drove it around and it was normal. Then it sat for a few weeks. Once I started it and was doing some light driving around I took it out to do some tree stands. And it is just grabby and studdery. Once im in the throttle and at some constant speed it is fine. But I started at one end of a hay field and floored it for about 300 yards, the fastest it got up to was 40. Seems very sluggish for this sort of machine, but I have no other one to compare it too.
When I did the snorkel kit, I removed the clutch and sealed the back of the cover and everything looked like it was in good order. Belt wasn’t burned or worn. machine has 220 miles on it. And its never been "fast."
I don’t know alot about the machines either so Im probably contemplating taking it to a dealer next to see if they can sort it out if nothing comes up here.
Got back from the Thanksgiving weekend (Canadian Eh!) ride last weekend, discovered giant oil slick on the floor this week… 🙁 Transmission/t-case fluid for sure… haven’t got it cleaned up yet to see exactly where.
Service manual says to pull the engine and transmission out as one for service. Anyone pulled the tranny without the engine? If so, do you have some directions/instructions on how to do so? Looks like I have all winter for this project… uggh.
Looking to purchase my first side by side and would like to know what do I gain by purchasing a 2014 800S compare to regular 800
Thanks for all the help
This weekend went to the dunes and blew a belt.right away turned it off and towed it to camp.removed the belt cover adn took out whatever was left from the old belt and took off as much from what was stuck on the primary bearing.we needed to put it on the trailer and we put on the OEM belt (3211130) and started up fine till i went to put it in gear it made a grinding noise and turned off.put it back into park and started up fine, tried a second time to put into gear and it turned off.put it in gear and started it but it just jerked like it wanted to move ad it died again.it was a little harder to put into park..so i got back home and opened it up again to take a look.the secondary moves at idle and the belt isn’t touching the primary bearing.the belt rotates when i start it and the primary clutch seems like its stuck. Belt was really hard to get on and i cant even take it out, wondering if its the belt or the clutch.or some of the little threads from the old belt
