my question can apply to any prostar engine but is on my s900, ok so I installed the bmp mechanical came chain tensioner, the install was simple enough but the question I have is getting it tensioned good, I put the valve cover back on and everything because there was no real good way to check the chains tension there i then ran it and tightened to what felt good to me. There’s no good torque spec or anything of what to tighten the chain too off the tensioner, does anyone have any tricks or tips for getting a mechanical tensioner set just right ? I don’t hear a rattle and I don’t hear a whine which is what everything I’ve read said to check for but that just didn’t seem real accurate to me….. Am I being paranoid ?

So, I’m now in the market for a carbo box that fits with the Tusk carrier rack. I believe the Polaris OEM Lock & Ride 2881193 box will mount without any functional issues.
I’d like to see what everyone else uses with their Tusk unit!
So I’ve been debating for a while on whether or not I wanted to put a light bar on my 900 S and finally pulled the trigger on an 8" CREE dual row spot/flood combo from OPT-7. I was after a few things:
1) Obviously more light for night riding.
2) An option that was budget-friendly, but not so cheap it would be ruined in a year. This includes a harness, switch, and mounting brackets.
3) Easy to mount in a protected location and maintain full functionality of accessories (flip-up windshield mainly).
Here’s the Amazon link where I bought it for about $70:
First things first, I’ll be mounting this on the front bumper brackets of the Polaris Extreme front bumper:
Here are some pictures of the light bar:
It definitely seems to be well made and use quality materials. Water-tight connections, 8 feet of harness wire, 40-amp relay, 30-amp inline fuse, and a toggle on/off switch.
I needed to change the terminal rings so they’d fit on my accessory busbar. The standard rings should be large enough for most battery terminals.
I used a lighter and didn’t like the charring of the heat shrink so I picked up a Harbor Freight heat gun for future use.
I’ll finish the install tomorrow or later this week since it’s about 20 degrees outside and I don’t have heat or good lighting in the garage, but I did quickly hook it up to test the lights and it’s impressive especially for an 8" bar.
Anyone else breaking the lower outer rear a-arm bolts? I have broken 2 so far with 8500 miles on the machine. Looking at the 2016 900 S they have gone from 10mm to 12mm dia on that bolt. Does anyone know of a recall or a retro-fit kit? Thanks for any help.
Would appreciate any help on locating the vent lines on my 15′ 900s. Im attempting to snorkel it and can not seem to locate the vent lines except for the front diff. I saw one line coming from the transmission going to the gas tank but no clue what that is.
Any help would be awesome and pics of their location would be even better.
Hello all, I am new here and new to SxS. I pick up my 15 RZR S 900 on Saturday I am excited. that said my first accessory. is going to be a roof. I would like some info on roofs from you folks. What I would like to know is does it make a difference weather or not the rear of the roof has the spoiler lip? I see it both as a strait flat edge to the end, then I also see it curve up to create the spoiler look. Does it actually have a functioning purpose for the up curve? thanks for any help.

I’m sure this has been covered in previous threads but I’ve searced a lot of threads and can’t find one that really covers everything. ie step by step instructions with pics. Also want advice on which 2nd battery is best and which isolator is best. What to say thank you in advance for any input to this subject. :icon_thumleft:
